Cnmt 410 Week 2 Individual Reflection
CNMT 410 was an interesting class to learn about the professional workplace. The discussions on time stealing interested me the most since I had no idea what some employers consider stealing time. Besides the discussions I learned a lot about producing quality work. Before this class my resume and cover letter would’ve been a joke. Most likely I would’ve taken a generic resume from Google. The resume wouldn’t have been very personal or showcase my experience. There would have been the exact same problem with the cover letter. I had no idea before this class that the cover letter was meant to be a personal letter from myself to the hiring manager. I always thought cover letters were more or less optional and just a generic short essay on who I was as a person. The quality of my work increased tenfold just from …show more content…
I like to think that I met expectations for producing quality work. Now, professional expertise was different. Since I had interned several times in an actual corporation I had a general feel for professional expertise and didn’t learn much from the class on it. Thanks to real world experience I exceeded expectations for expertise. Time management was similar, we had plenty of time to accomplish the coursework and to make sure it was at least decent quality. I scored this somewhere in between the two others, I wasn’t just meeting expectations but I also wasn’t soaring above them either. This class was really informative for my internship that I’ll be going back to in a few weeks. First of all I actually have a resume that I can list my work experience on, second, I can write clearer and more professional emails or documentation. Hopefully by being more professional and displaying all the information I’ve learned from this class I can first get a raise since I’ve been interning for 3 years and it's more of a real job at this point. And second I can use this internship and information to spring myself to a well paying job that I truly enjoy after

Last week was our first week of class in which we discussed several different topics relating to business in the computer field also known as BIS/220. We discussed the ethical challenges surrounding the movie and music industries as they related to the internet, what ways the university of Phoenix deals with plagiarism, collaborating tools that we use in our personal and work life and different concepts of Microsoft Word that we might not have been aware of. Along with our group work, we were also giving a list of different political acts that have effect the technology world and were told to argue the two acts and why or how they added to the change of technology. In this summary I will explain what Team A has summarized about last week from what we discussed with the discussion questions as well as our individual papers about different acts how technology has promoted their change.…

-I believe that it would be a great bumper sticker because wearing a seatbelt is something that is very important to do while driving. Most times people forget or simply hate wearing them because they feel uncomfortable. But a simple reminder of this would help many people avoid any disastrous situation. By wearing a seat belt a person can avoid getting a ticket. It could also lessen the force that could be applied to you if you were to have an accident while on the road. Wearing a seatbelt is something that is always found on a written test exam for getting your license. These are the reasons why I believe that a “KEEP CALM and FASTEN YOUR SEATBELT!” would be a great bumper sticker to have.…

The readings went well, however I feel I've been taking this course to lightly and will try to do devote more time to study as opposed to merely reading the material. With the Upcoming written test, this may be an ideal opportunity to reevaluate my knowledge and supplement it where appropriate. Doing more actual coding of the presented ideas would also benefit me greatly.…

    9health Fair Reflection

On April 22, 2017, five classmates and I took part volunteering at the 9Health Fair. Before showing up we all were e-mailed instructions on the Health fair protocols for taking blood pressure (BP), performing Body Mass index (BMI) and pulse oximetry (02 sat). When arriving we all kind of gravitated to a station. I ended up working with Allie and Karen in the BP/02 sat Station. When the fair began, it seemed that we were pretty slow, so I volunteered to stand by the blood draw station informing patients where our BP/O2 Sat stations was located. While working the line trying to get customers to our station, I heard a thump. One of the people who had their blood drawn, stood up and then fell straight back to the ground. I watch as this…

ENGL 202 was a tremendous experience for my second quarter at Humphrey's University. I feel that I have benefited from the knowledge gained from the course and learned vastly to working and analyzing not only my own writings but also with other writings. In the beginning of this course, we have learned how to specifically understand how a well-versed paper can be defined and what it is not. The first essay that we analyzed was based off a concerned parent to beauty pageants for children under 10 years of age. We first analyzed her topic and learned that while it is a concerning issue, her essay was no more than a simple rant that lacks research and specific data that would be relevant to her essay. From there we analyzed other topics that, while they were well-researched topics, they had specific “holes” in them that affected their credibility, such as a lack of authority towards the author or missing valuable research. One in particular was to an author that relied on emotion for being against the death penalty. These helped us to analyze essays better and to learn what not to do in a research assignment. This next element of…

I once applied for a volunteer opportunity in the Vancouver Aquarium, and I had to write a cover letter and resume in order to attain the spot. Although that was my first time doing these, I paid a lot of effort and I got the position. This experience tells me that cover letter and resume are required for almost any jobs, even including volunteering work. After listening to Dr. Desrochers’s presentation, I have come to know more about the strategies in writing cover letters and resumes, and also realized the importance of these job-applying requirements. What make them so vital is that the cover letter and resume is what people who don’t know you at all judge you by and make their decisions from. Thus, the quality of cover letter and resume is vital in determining whether one will get an interview opportunity or not. From the presentation, I learnt that resumes should be as concise as possible to save the employer’s time and as well as to impress him/her. Since recruiters are dealing with a number of applications everyday, they will only scan through all the resumes, and look for keywords that attract them. Hence, writing creative and succinct resumes will gain oneself a positive impression from the recruiters and is the most essential factor for applying jobs. More detailed information goes on the cover letter which is designated to highlight your accomplishments and the potential you have to gain this job opening. The first impression the employers make is based on one’s cover letter and resume, therefore, they are in fact the most important factors that will determine whether or not one is going to have interview opportunity and possess the…
