Most People In The Business World Today
Most people in the business world today will do whatever it takes to get ahead in their company. This shows that greed will cause a person to do immoral and unethical things. I think Henry should ignore the emails and continue to do the proposal without cheating. Some people cheat because companies put too much pressure on them and they fear failure. If Henry was to get caught cheating, he could possibly loose his career and other business opportunities in the future.
The ethical choice that we are taught by our families at a young age is personal ethics. To do unto other as we would have them do unto is (page 80). I would never consider cheating to get a promotion or more income within the company. I was taught that if you really want something, you have to work hard for it. I would rather work hard and earn the promotion and income instead of, receiving it because I cheated.

Or even the average construction workers will use cheap materials to get a job done under budget and leave the owner responsible for when it falls apart. Why should he care he got paid made his money and has moved on to the next job. Or the high school kid who cheats on every test and get praised for his good grades. I’m sure he has one million excuses why he can’t learn so cheating is the only option. Then the kid that actually tries doesn’t do as well and the one who cheats gets rewarded. The sad fact is that we as a species let dishonesty become the norm and now we live in a world of dishonest people waiting to make a buck at someone else’s expense. It is suggested that many ethical violations by upper managers are the by-products of success and not of competitive pressure (Ludwig & Longenecker, 1993). When leaders commit ethical violations we often think it is because the leader lacks values and principles. However some may argue that leaders that commit ethical violations are people that have a strong sense of ethics and moral values (Van Velsor & Ascalon, 2008). So why then do leaders that work so hard to make it to the top of their organization decide to abandon their ethics?…
