First Tybalt is one of the people who are responsible for the tragedy. Tybalt hated the Montagues already, and when Romeo showed up to the Capulet party, Tybalt overreacted and got angry at Romeo and that made him angry and resulted in killing Mercutio (I, i, 55-96). Lord Capulet said, don’t do anything to Romeo, but Tybalt didn’t listen because he was too angry for Romeo even being at the Capulet party. Also If he had just little kindness in his heart, Mercutio and Tybalt would’ve lived and Romeo wouldn’t be banished (III, i, 112-128). This resulted it in Romeo’s banishment, and in the end, his death, along with Juliet. Romeo’s banishment led to Friar Lawrence’s plan and Friar Lawrence is also responsible for their death from his own Plan…

In Alfred, Lord Tennyson’s “The Lady of Shalott,” the eponymous Lady is cursed to spend her life alone, weaving in the top of a tower, with a mirror as her only window to the outside world. Though she is trapped against her will, “in her web she still delights / to weave the mirror’s magic sights”. Into her endless tapestry, she weaves in all the images shown to her in the mirror, such as funerals, weddings, and the people who pass by on the road to Camelot. This creation of art is her only pleasure in life. However, after what is implied to be years of isolation, she becomes “half sick of shadows” and loses her artistic passion. At the chance passing of Lancelot, she cannot bear it any longer and leaves her weaving to look out and see the world for what it really is, bringing about her own death in the process. The Lady does not die for her love of Lancelot, who just happened to catch her interest at that moment, but for her love of life and the world, which she could not experience and, therefore, could not recreate in any way that did it justice in her mind.…

On May 17, 9th through 12th grade students in My Mental Health Matters (MMHM), a new club at State High, presented May’s Straight Talk session. MMHM is a student-formed club that aims to erase the stigma attached to issues surround mental health. Under the guidance of high school counselors Patty Devecka and Suzanne Lyke, Jana Marie Foundation’s President Marisa Vicere, and State High alumnus Shawn Bainbridge, members strive to bring awareness to common feelings of doubt or helplessness and most importantly, to let students know that they are never alone in the State High halls. Their Straight Talk presentation covered the importance of mental health awareness from a student perspective. The students responsible for forming MMHM were moved by troubling results from the most recent Pennsylvania Youth Survey (PAYS), which reflected alarmingly high rates of depression and suicidal ideation. They identified that the importance of physical health receives a great deal of attention, but mental health is often neglected. The…

In the movie, there are some gender issues. In 1970s, women receive the unfair treatments. They could not live in the sex equality lives. Men always thought women were born for marrying with them, and their wives had to service them as the God. At that time, men usually went out for work, but women should stay home and do the household chores. In this way, men oppressed women indirectly. I think it is the sexism; males should not have the prejudice to women. Until now, these kinds of problems do not disappear, what can we do is respect to each other, not only men to women but also same sex to same sex. And why can women be like men? It has already twenty one century, women should fight for their rights, do not let others ignore women’s existences.…
