I am going to compare motivation theories for 2 business’s. McDonalds and ford to do this. I will show you what reward each business provide for their employees and how they differ between the

Mayo and Maslow because they both promote working in teams and groups.

Ford Motivation
• Holidays - 26 days a year also bank holidays
• Pension – employees can make a pension arrangement
• Personal development – access to education opportunities and health and fitness activities using the onsite gym
Employment development and assistance programme(EDAP) – can get up to £200 per year with non job related training
• Work life balance – female employees can get up to 52 weeks maternity leave with basic pay. They also get tax relief on childcare vouchers at the onsite childcare facility.
• Car privilege scheme – you and your family members can get up to 3 cars at a discount price every 9 months.
• Relocation packaging – if you relocate they can help[ with expenses up to a fixed amount. Taylor’s methods were widely adopted as businesses saw the benefits of increased productivity levels and lower unit costs. The most notably advocate was Henry Ford who used them to design the first ever production line, making Ford cars. This was the start of the era of mass production.
