Motivational Speech
The Time is Now

The time is now, to conquer your reality and become the successful person you are meant to be. I am here today to give you all words of encouragement and some advice so you can move closer towards completing your goals. Some of the topics I want to cover include goals, failure, time management, and what type of people to surround yourselves with. I will also give examples of successful people who gave their all to get to the top I believe everybody has a purpose on this earth and by setting goals you are working towards your purpose in life. Having a goal gives your life meaning, and it allows you to focus on something that is important in your life. There are many type of goals a person can set. This ranges from financial goals like starting a business, to healthy goals like losing 100 pounds, and eating healthier. A lot of people want to be successful, but they haven’t put the time in to analyze how they are going to be successful. They haven’t taken the time to make up their blueprint to success, their actual plan. Its okay to dream, but setting up goals and objectives are more realistic. There’s this minister/ motivational speaker/ some other things named Eric Thomas, that gives a very good motivational speech on You tube. And my challenge to myself as well as everybody in this classroom is to listen to this speech 3 times a week and see if this helps change your life because it was very inspiring to me. So when you get a chance just type in motivational speech on you tube and its going to be the first video you see with a man in a Tigers hat. I actually seen the speech two or three years ago and realized from watching it, I haven’t been going as hard as I need to. So by watching this speech I expect it to motivate me to go harder. In this speech, he talks about this story about a young man who wanted to make a lot of money. I’m not going to tell the whole story, but the point of the story is: is that when you want to succeed as bad

McDonald's has successfully created a brand/name for itself as the leading fast food retailer in the world. It is somewhat of impossibility for one to not come across a McDonald's with over 30,000 local restaurants in over 100 countries (McDonald's, 2011). Those restaurants are owned either by a franchise owner or a corporation; a percentage of all the earnings from a franchise owner, including a percentage from their annual revenue go to McDonald's.…

Goals can be personal or professional, long-term or short-term, but they help us track our course and stay on target for our future endeavors. Securing the image you see for your future requires straightforward ideas, dedication, and a passion to carry you through to the end. A goal is an end to which you direct your efforts. (Carter, Bishop, & Kravits, 2011, “Glossary”). The objectives desired by each individual acts as a compass, guiding each of us to ultimately build upon our blue print for life.…

In life, to successfully move forward I need to establish goals. “The tragedy in life is not reaching your goal, but having no goal to reach” (Leadership for Student Activities, 2005). I must have a plan of how I will achieve my goals and be able to identify when an important element of that goal is reached. Possible setbacks must be considered and purposeful schemes arranged for when the unexpected shows up. According to Deci and Ryan (1984), “Goals, whether trivial, routine, significant or life altering, are part of peoples everyday lives”.…

Someone always has to have a goal in life, whether it be a short term or long term goal. Some goals may be to go to college, some may be to get married. But, some of these goals may be to make a 90 on a Spanish test on Friday or make a 3-point shot at the basketball game Thursday night. Every person has his or her personal goals that they try to achieve to keep them encouraged and inspired and without these goals, dreams to be a basketball player or a teacher would not imprint themselves in the hearts and minds of people everywhere. Without goals you have nothing to work towards. Some of the goals I have set for myself this year are to get into a high school program. The programs I would like to be in are Computer Science at Freehold Boro, Medical Science at Freehold Boro, or International Baccalaureate program and Freehold Township. I plan on achieving this goal by studying hard, getting good grades, and always striving for more. Another goal I have set for myself is to make the playoffs this year in football. I plan on achieving this goal by working hard at practice and getting all my teammates to work hard also. If I achieve these goals I think I will have an even more honorable…

A dream is impossible to accomplish when there is no plan in place to achieve them. Setting goals can be beneficial in getting one step closer to achieving dreams and aspirations. For example, it’s like watching a flower grow. When you grow a flower you need the container to put the flower in. Prepare and sterilize the container. Next add the soil in and then plant the seed. Water the plant, make sure the plant gets as much sunlight needed for it to survive. Slowly but surely with the proper plan and care your flower starts to bloom. Goal setting is the container, it’s the base to what you want to achieve in life. Sterilize your container, is just like writing down those dreams. Place the soil in, add water to your ideas, and actually take the time to bring sunlight and action in accomplishing your dreams. Students should create goals because; making progress in something helps motivate yourself in believing that you can achieve your dreams. Otherwise your dreams and aspirations are nothing more than vague ideas moving around in your…

Each year hundreds of thousands of immigrants cross the borders illegally. Now, who can blame them for wishing to come to the United States, wanting to provide a better life for their families and having the ability to earn a better income? Do not blame them for their desires; however their actions should be questioned. For someone who wants the American Dream, crossing the border illegally is not the path to make that happen. The U.S. Government has had various bills they have been attempting to pass that would grant amnesty to the illegal immigrants in the country, and their families still on the other side of the fence. Nevertheless, the costs involved in the amnesty of these illegal immigrants would be passed along to taxpayers. Although amnesty for illegal immigrants whom are already in the U.S. is proposed, amnesty should not be granted because it rewards those breaking the law, and it is bad for the economy.…

Every man and woman strives to achieve success, it’s what our parents teaches us from birth. However, a lot of people don’t realize success comes with a lot of failures. I’m not going to lie, I thought life would be easy. I graduate from high school, never got in trouble, and was a promising basketball star. In my adolescence years, things were handed to me, and I never really thought about my future. When the time came for me to take on the real world, I didn’t know what the struggle and the grind of life was. What made it even more tough was, growing up in the urban part of the bay area, which created chains of events that would change my life forever. My life was changing and I didn’t have a direction, and I kept sinking lower, until I…
