In the year 1980 there was an eruption. Before the time of the eruption there was 5.1 magnitude earthquake. Which probably after the earthquake the volcano erupted, and when the volcano erupted it created the world's largest landslide. Problems that were caused by the eruption were things like the ash from the volcano flattening the forest, filling the lakes with debris, and the mountain ended up being covered with 7ft of ash. There also was lots of other effects from the eruption. Like most of the animal life had disappeared. The most likely animal that survived was the gophers. The eruption killed over 1,000 different type of bird species. Not only did it kill birds and other animals it ended up killing the reptiles that lived in the water. The volcano had little mountains regrowing. Solid rock was being pushed up, growing around 16ft a day. The thing was that after it grew it suddenly collapsed. The process of that kept happening over time. But when the volcano erupted in 2004 after its rebuilding it wasn’t the same eruption that happened in 1980.
