As the book states, “realistics prefer loose discursive plots, with no defined beginning, middle, or end.”, and a good example can be the film Glassland (Gianetti). The movie Glassland as an example of realistic narrative, since the movie explores a life based stored, and does not have a clear or defined ending to it, which leaves the audience to forecast was would have or will happen. Moreover, before reading the textbook I was not aware about motion pictures having three broad classifications, one being documentaries which fits the movie Best in Show. The film Epic Movie, a parody movie, fits the parodic cycle, a movie in which its “genre's development is an outright mockery of its conventions, reducing them to howling cliches and presenting them in a comic manner” (Gianetti). This movies, is based on other popular film like The Chronicles of Narnia, Harry Potter, X-Man, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, but the plot is utter mockery of the those films. A story helps determine or classify what a film is about and where it should categorized, there are many aspects that make up a story as for what it
