1. Title: The Last Song
2. Main Character: Veronica Ronnie Miller (Miley Cyrus)
3. Genre/Director: drama, romance/ Julie Anne Robinson
4. The character that I like in this movie was Veronica’s father, Steve Miller (Greg Kinnear). He was very tender and loving towards his daughter and son although he divorced with his wife. He invited them to spend their summer holiday at his house, near the beach. Steve also tried to be close with Veronica even he knows his daughter hates him. He tried to make the best out of all situations and always live positively. He worked on a stained glass window for the local church to replace the one the church lost in fire.
5. I do not really prefer the main character of this movie, Veronica Miller. She was rebellious. Veronica was angry about her parents’ divorce and put all the blame on his father by not talking to him for many years and refused to play piano. She gave up on her talent (playing piano) so easily. She only realized the love his father had for her when he was diagnosed with stomach cancer and had only little time to survive.

6. Ronnie’s and her younger brother, Jonah’s, parents are divorced. They live with their mother until this summer they are sent to live with their father, Steve Miller in a small town on the beach. Ronnie resents her father and has no intention of being friendly or even talking to him for the summer. But after meeting a handsome guy and beginning to fall in love, Ronnie starts rediscovering her love for music, something she shares with her father. Reconnecting with music revives a kinship with her father which proves to be the most important relationship she may ever experience.
7. My favorite scene of this story is when Veronica stood up to make a speech at his father’s funeral. She declared that no words would ever be able to show how wonderful her father was. She played his father’s song that she helped finish. This scene

    1. The strong point of the movie is that it shows the parallel worlds of Lana and her uncle Paul. They both are people who try to help the world be a better place and they both end up in horrible situations in two very important cities in the United States. Lana is in Los Angeles volunteering at a Christian homeless shelter and Paul who is a Vietnam veteran tries to prevent Los Angeles from attacks just like 9/11. He suspects everyone who is of Arabic origin. They meet each other when a Pakistani gets brutally murdered. The best part of the movie is the well-assembled scenes, they are very dynamic, and that makes it that the two storylines come together so nicely. The Paul’s character is very tragic, he has suffered so much trauma in his life,…

I would have to admit that this was my first time ever hearing of this movie until this assignment but once I saw it I absolutely fell in love with all the characters and the different dynamics of family. It begins with Norman and Ethel Thayer moving back to their lake house in Maine for the summer. Norman and Ethel have been married a long time and will be celebrating Norman’s eightieth birthday and welcoming back their daughter Chelsea and she brings along her boyfriend Billy Ray and his teenage son Billy Ray Jr. Chelsea asked her parents can Billy jr stay with them while her and Billy go to Europe. When Billy and Chelsea return form Europe she discovers that her dad and Billy have the relationship that she always wanted and decided to confront him and deal with her emotions.…

    3. Yes Ree is a hero in my eyes because she’s courageous, selfless, trustworthy, and persistent in trying to find her dad. She doesn’t care what happens to her she just wants her siblings and mother to not have to live an even more dreadful life. For example, she only tried to join the army to get the money that came with giving service but when she found out she couldn’t care for her siblings if she left, she decided it wasn’t a good idea. Teardrop has a change of heart throughout the film, he starts helping Ree when he decides he wants revenge for his brother’s death. At first he didn’t want anything to do with it but later he saves her from the people that beat her up. It really shocked me when he started helping her because he just seemed so mean and aggressive at first. I thought he was going to find the killer and kill him.…

Veronica at first seems like the most compassionate person of all the group and trying to fix the problem of her son’s injury caused by the child of Alan and Annette and trying to convey them that they should do something to their son’s actions. Towards end of the play she makes a statement that Alan and Annette are horrible parents and people, period. The actress really did a great job portraying it her voice made it perfect and rest of the play she tries and tries to keep her good manners in under control. Meanwhile her husband Michael in the very beginning tries to create peace with the boys and the Raleigh’s but as the story progresses he makes racial slurs, saying that raising children is just something that wastes time and a horrible experience, and don’t forget he let a pet hamster into the street! He was very interesting character and the actor was absolutely my favorite he just made it more intriguing with his facial expressions and his personality as well. Annette was the most physically destructive of all and she had the same beliefs as Veronica and that communication can fix the problem of the two boys but her lack of confidence by her husband not caring about her affected her being a mother. The actress who played as Annette had a very great voice and for myself I like anyone who had a voice that fits the character and it totally did. Alan had a very stereotypical type in the group like he was those untruthful people who you did not want to be with and with his annoying cellphone completed his character, but he was the most philosophical one even though he was kind of a sexist with his…

After watching the movie several times through, I agree with Mr. Ebert’s comments and review. The acting done by the main cast was superb. It was an entertaining movie that provided a powerful message of courage. The critic gave complements to both director Tom Hooper and the main cast. The movie was greatly executed. Mr. Ebert especially applauded the acting of Albert, played by Colin Firth, during the ending scene; he stated, “that fraught scene was masterful” (Roger).…
