E-business is also defined by Investopedia as “A type of business model, or segment of a larger business model, that enables a firm or individual to conduct business over an electronic network, typically the internet.” (Investopedia, LLC, 2015).
By establishing a website, Angela’s Florist will not only be opening her businesses option into becoming an e-business, but will also be able to benefit in areas such as expanding her customer base and opening hours, limiting her wages expenses and eliminating the intimidation of other businesses. Retailing, is the physical sale of goods or services to a consumer, while electronic retail, or e-business, is the sale of goods through the internet.
3.1 Benefits of retailing
Retailing has many advantages to it, such as protected security, ensuring that all customers and staff are safe from fraud. Retail also enables the customers to physically feel and see merchandise before purchasing, which gives them a chance to logically purchase goods.
In relation to the business, retailing provides the customer and staff personal interaction which helps build customer loyalty. This means that the business may have numerous loyal customers who always purchase flowers from Angela’s Florist.
