Anne Frank is the definition of compassion. Anne is the definition of compassion because she is loving and caring. I know this because in the play Anne makes gifts for everybody for Hanukkah. The gifts she made them were not any gifts, they were gifts that were thought full. They were also gifts that were creative and needed. Sacrifice, the offering of animal, plant, or human life or of some material possession to a deity, as in propitiation or homage. Miep Gies and Mr. Kraler is the definition of sacrifice in the play. The reason Miep is the definition of sacrifice is because she sacrificed her life to help the Franks, the Van Daans, and Mr. Dussel. I know this because in the play the two are always bringing them food and water along with other supplies. Even though Miep was Pregnant she still came and helped the families in the annex. The people in the annex were Jewish and were being hunted down. They were being hunted down because Adolf Hitler thought the jews were not humans. Mr. Frank and his family along with the Van Daans and Mr. dussel went into hiding for two years. Honestly, I think I would be able to stay in a annex that long . I also think I would be as strong and as brave as they

In her diary, Anne refers to it as the "secret annex." For two years, these close quarters serve as a shelter and protection for the families against the Nazi enemy. While in hiding, problems and the characters' true natures evolved, revealing their differing personalities and value systems. Anne Frank, a young Jewish girl who writes a diary of her experiences during World War II, tells about the major characters in the play. What is courage? According to dictionary.com, courage is the quality of mind or spirit that enables a person to face difficulty, danger, pain etc., without fear; bravery. In the novel To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, both Atticus and Boo Radley are both courageous through the challenges they are faced with. Both of these men are citizens of Maycomb and create change within their town. Although Atticus and Boo Radley are very different people, they prove to be similar through their acts of courage. Though their acts of courage are similar, they both generate change to different aspects of their lives. Both men change things through their acts of courage, but the changes are drastically different. Atticus’ courage is a long term change, and it will help Maycomb see African Americans as equals and not as inferiors.
