Question #1: On what activities would you tell Mr. Phillips you intended to focus? Why?
Answer: As activities go in Mr. Phillips Furniture store I would implement a vison or mission statement to adhere by, so that there is a proper goal set in place for employees and other organizations to see that there is a future for growth. The goal of the mission statement will help establish a future plan where the company can aim to be at. Mr. Philips has been growing his company from a little furniture off of lakeside to now multiple growing locations. As mission statement is now in place we can now focus on the task at and that will help Mr. Phillips furniture store. As a HR manager, we must implement a set of state laws regarding employee and industry

Mr. Phillips knows that his furniture store is growing and expanding, what needs to happen next is to establish organizational structure where everyone knows their roles and can be accountable for what and whom there responsible for what they do. This will help to keep and ensure that efficient and effective management is set in place. I would also ask Mr. Phillips to aim his focus on creating a HR manual so to speak, that sets a HR policy. This would be more of a HR specialist task as having multiple locations will have different employees. So, having a HR specialist in each location will keep employees knowing what the compensation policy is, and leave criteria, attendance system, and staffing. This then relates to having a job description for employees. A job description is needed now because the retail furniture is vastly growing. This will let employees know what is expected of him/her and the responsibilities at hand. As now we have Job descriptions it is now a must to have Training for our employees. With Mr. Phillips having many locations we should focus on having a set location that focuses on different jobs within the company. Training such
