Alt.vfx is a company that specializes in Visual effects, design, and post production for television commercials and films. The company’s core concept is to bring collaborative approach to the process of filmmaking and advertising. One of their products characteristic is “realistic”. However, there are 30 full-time staffs now in the company. Most of people do not pay attention to the company which made the commercials but products which were created by Alt.vfx are broadcasted in all over Australia. History
Alt.vfx is a new company which was established in 2011 by VFX supervisor Collin Renshaw and Executive producer Takashi Takada. Only a year later, Alt.vfx received awards. Their turning point was when they made a commercial for Toohey which is famous beer and cider company in Australia. The title of this commercial is "nocturnal immigration". It put Alt.vfx on the world stage and gave an opportunity to take creative awards from all over the world. Some advertisement companies could have become a one-hit wonder but Alt.vfx continues to succeed with several hits. Before this company was established, Mr.Renshaw and Mr.Takada worked their own jobs for four years in CuttingEdge studio. However, they considered what they wanted to do and what the "real" creative industry is. Then, they decided to start their small art company which is named "Alt.vfx" with three other former staff of the same studio in 2011. Although they did not have any tools or even an office space, Alt.vfx gathered their staff and helped to make an advertisement which received dozens of awards including one of the greatest awards called "Canner Lions".
Challenges
The biggest challenges for them were making their products continuously and participating in many contests. Alt.vfx is a new company so they need to produce a lot of products that people can recognize.
