story. The book talks about many fights that Ali fought in, his other accomplishments, and conflicts he endured during his journey to becoming “The Greatest.” My overall impression with the book was that I thought it was very good. I finished it rather quicker than I expected and that was because it was tremendously entertaining. I liked how it progressed in chronological order and the author did not show any bias to many of issues that were talked about. A plethora of readers would enjoy this book. Many like me were shocked and in disbelief when Ali died. So, I think this a fantastic book for others to educate themselves on more information.
There are several ideas and themes that the book addresses.
One them would be no matter the how many obstacles an individual faces he or she can overcome them and achieve success. Muhammad Ali grew up during the time of segregation, and being a different skin color resulted with dealing with problems. For instance, growing up he was involved in many fights with other children. However, he still was able to go to the olympics and become a heavyweight champion. Another idea in the novel was that without fear, people can thrive. Ali was basically afraid of nothing growing up, and this helped him conquering opponents in his career as a professional boxer.
The book occurs in the past and there were many important events during this time period. I would recommend this book to people who are in high school, therefore he or she would already have background information and had learned parts about the history of the United States. Any kind of reader who is fascinated in sports, history, and an action genre would like this
book.
