In the very beginning Macbeth meets the Weird Sisters. The witches taunt Macbeth by telling him what he wants to hear. This makes Macbeth want to hear more to see what the future may hold for him. The third witch told: “Thou shalt get kings, though thou be none. So all hail, Macbeth and Banquo!” (I. iii. 67-68). This leads Macbeth to take that fear out of his life. Macbeth visits the witches were he asks for the future or what is in his way to get the power he wants. The witches hand him an Apparition. The First Apparition claims: “Macbeth! Macbeth! Macbeth! Beware Macduff! Beware the Thane of Fife! Dismiss me. Enough” (IV.i. 71-72). In other when the witches show Macbeth what he must fear it drives him to kill Macduff and potentially others. Without the witches Macbeth wouldn’t have known who to fear leading him not to murder. Macbeth cried: “Then live, Macduff; what need I fear of thee? But yet ill make assurance double sure And take a bond of fate. Thou shalt not live, That I may tell pale-hearted fear it lies, And sleep in spite of thunder” (IV. i. 82-86). In other words, with the Weird Sisters giving fear to Macbeths mind Macbeth wants to do whatever possible to gain power and to get suspicion off of himself for killing King Duncan.
