Overview-
Muscle strain, also termed as muscle tear and muscle pull is related to the muscle damage and its attached tendons. It occurs when you give excessive pressure on muscles during performing daily life activities like during sports or heavy weight lifting.it can be in the form of tearing of the fibres of your muscles and attaching tendons. In addition to this it also affects small blood vessels which leads to bleeding, bruising and pain.

Causes-
A severe muscle strain occurs when your muscle twists unexpectedly and surprisingly. These tears may occur from trauma or injuries. This can include:
• No proper warming activities before exercise.
• Lack of flexibility.
• Lack of conditioning
• fatigue and overexertion

A severe muscle strain is when the muscle is severely twisted. This leads to pain and very restricted movement.

Diagnosis-
The specialist will take a medical history and play out a physical exam. During the exam, it's natural to form up whether the muscle is in part or totally twisted, which can include an any longer recuperating process, conceivable surgery, and a more convoluted recuperation. X-rays or lab tests are often used, unless there was a possibility of trauma or proof of infection.

Treatment-
Most muscle strains can be effectively treated at home .slight muscle strains can be cured with ice rest, elevation and compression.
Ice -Apply ice quickly when your muscle is harmed. It will reduce swelling. Do not apply ice directly on your skin. Use it with an ice pack or wrap ice in a towel. Keep the ice on your muscle for at least 20 minutes. Repeat this in every next hours on that day. For the a few days, apply ice at regular intervals.
Rest -restrict over use of your muscle for a couple of days, particularly if increases the pain the muscle. An excessive amount of rest can make muscles weak, which can lead to delay in healing. After two days, slowly start moving the twisted muscle but not over use
