He served in the military for 6 years and during this time he was deployed to the Philippines, Greece, Turkey, Japan, and he also fought in the Gulf War in Saudi Arabia. While he was serving in the Marine Corps, he met my mother at Disneyland and they fell in love instantly. They would marry 6 months later in 1993 and have been together ever since. He motivates me in many ways and teaches me things about love, respect, honesty, and the importance of God. He told me many stories of his life and adventures when he was in the Marines. One of my favorite stories he has told me about the Marine corps was when there was this big dust storm and all his big radios and antennas got messed up from the wind and dirt. He was up for 3 days trying to fix them and he started getting angry at everyone and yelling. After they finished working on the radios, he went back to guarding his spot to watch for any enemies and no one tried to sneak in and attack the base. Then he told me one about how God sometimes answers our prayers. One day when he was in Saudi Arabia, the enemies had set a large amount of oil on fire. The smoke was so thick in the sky that he could not see the sky during the day or any stars at night. One night he really wanted to feel the calmness of the night sky because he has not seen the stars for about a month or more , because of all of the smoke he still could not see them, so he closed his eyes and said a prayer asking God to please let him see the stars. When he said amen and opened his eyes, the smoke had cleared for him to see several stars up in the night

The precipitated calcium carbonate is then filtered, dried, and weighed. The moles of calcium carbonate, CaCO3, are equal to the moles of Group 1 metal carbonate, M2CO3, added to the original solution. Dividing the mass of the unknown carbonate by the moles of calcium carbonate yields the formula weight, and thus the identity, of the Group 1 metal carbonate.…

Three people that inspire me or made me want to make a difference in the world are Malcolm X, Martin Luther King Jr. , and Rosa Parks. They are my heros because they done things that they believe in and that they thought were fair because they wanted to make sure everyone had rights to do whatever they want whenever they wanted to do it. I believe that everyone has a voice in the world and if u believe in something u should do it no matter what the risks are.…

There are many definitions of the word ‘hero’ but Dictionary.com defines a hero as a man of distinguished courage or ability, admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities, a person who, in the opinion of others, has heroic qualities or has performed a heroic act and is regarded as a model or ideal, the principal male character in a story, play, film, etc. While growing up, I can remember many instances where we were asked to write about and describe who we felt our ‘hero’ was. The common and cliche answer amongst many people is “my mom.” Under the dictionary definition I don’t know that all of my classmates moms, including my own, are heroes.…

One kind of hero that exists all over the world is the everyday hero. The person that I consider my everyday hero is my mother. The qualities that make her my hero are her way of doing things, and also how she sacrifices herself for me. For example, she is responsible and shows her stronger side in front of us when we are facing difficult times. Also she is so lovely that almost everyone likes her when they meet her. She always says to me that her duties are to look after me but at the same time to give me the freedom to make mistakes and find bright sides of my mistakes. The way that she influences me is that I see that sometimes she leaves what she is doing for her to take care of me. Even though many people argue that heroes are not real, I will disagree with them because I believe that everybody has a hero who protects them and looks after them.…

During the 1300s, a plague epidemic swept through Europe ruining everything in its path. Not a soul knew this horrible disease was about to turn their world upside down, but when it did there was no turning back. There was no getting back to their normal lives when this disaster hit. To me this is one, if not the most, terrible plague epidemics to hit the European countries. This horrible epidemic was called the Black Death. Researchers have spent decades studying and searching for answers. One answer they came to find was that this exact plague alone was responsible for killing over a third of the population. Europeans all over reacted and responded in so many different ways. Most did not know how to take the fact that their lives will never be the same after this pandemic swept through, and then some considered this a new beginning, a way to start over fresh and change their lives around.…

All my life I have searched for outdoor profession involving human remains and settlements that could satisfy my curiosity. Then, I met a person that is so dedicated to such a profession that I had no knowledge about. As to knowing her since I have been under her wing for two years, I could say that she is a very skillful person in the field of archaeology. Her name is Jolie Liston, from Texas, a 7th generation Texan. All her life since age 23, has been doing archaeology because she loved doing outside work. Now age 53 and has achieved her Ph.D. on this type of field (Liston2/7/13,Liston2/12/13). With the 2 years of work and training with her, I finally made a hard decision because I had two choices, be in the military or outdoor profession which I wanted. With all her lectures and teachings about archaeological dig and investigating past histories, my interest grew more and captured me right there. I would say that Jolie is nothing compared to others out there. There are great accomplishments that she accomplished in Palau before she left the island. All based on her discoveries on field were publicized and taught to the people, also helped with preserving some of the very old cultural sites. With the archaeology skill she possesses, I have been inspired to walk the same path and start out by going to higher education to pursue a future field goal.…
