My Development Years

“When we are children we seldom think of the future. This innocence leaves us free to enjoy ourselves as few adults can. The day we fret about the future is the day we leave our childhood behind.” -Patrick Rothfuss, The Name Of The Wind. In this essay I will be talking about my development years, also bringing my observations, not done at the child center, and make some reference form the berk book. Development is a word that is used to describe the many changes in a child’s physical growth, as well as their ability to learn the social, emotional, behavior, thinking and communication skills needed for life. These areas are all linked, and one depends on another and their influence each other. In the first five years of life, a child’s brain will develop faster than at any other time in their life.
Our environment are the experiences we have in our family, school and the wider community. As we develop, our genetic makeup and environment influence each other. The way our environment and genes work together affect and shape a lot about what we will be later on in life during the developmental years. For example, how a toddler responds to a stressful situation depends the toddler’s temperament and the relationships a toddler has with others in their environment. “I was born in a small town in West Africa called Gboko in the country of Nigeria. I was born August 16th, 1996 to Joseph Ichull-Ingya, a Christian pastor, and Mwuese Ichull-Ingya. I am the third of four children, but I am the first boy with two older sisters and one younger brother. My parents wanted four children and at least one of them had to be a boy… I am part of the Tiv tribe. Tiv is an ethno-linguistic group in West Africa (Nigeria, Cameroon).” (an exert form my last
