My Dream Home
Everyone has his or her own idea of the perfect dream home. Some people may prefer an extravagant three story and eight bedroom mansion with staircases lined with candles and bathtubs the size of pools. Some may be just fine with a small cabin overlooking an endless mountain view. When I was a young child, I had my absolute favorite dollhouse that I played with on a twenty- four seven basis. I was constantly rearranging the furniture and making sure that my little home looked just right. I imagine that my own perfect dream home would be just like my own life-size dollhouse, only larger and much nicer. First of all, the exterior of my home would look like something off the cover of a magazine. A large wrought iron gate would open up and lead one into a circular driveway with a fountain in the center surrounded by colorful flowers. The front of my home is a tan and white brick mixture with an array of differently shaped shrubs in front. Two large chimneys shoot out from the top above a gray slanted roof. As one walks through the brown framed stained glass door, he enters into the illuminated front hallway. A large double staircase with dark oak panels and a shimmering chandelier above comes into view. The downstairs of my home consists of the living room, dining room, kitchen, and a library. To the right of the staircase is the living room. My living room will be a very comfortable place to relax. There will be many comfy couches that are made of soft material and covered with many pillows and blankets. A television would be mounted above the stone fireplace. The room across from the living room is the dining room. The dining room will include a long oval shaped dining table with chairs that have some plush backing to them because I do not like really stiff chairs. The dining room leads into the kitchen where, of course, I prepare my food. The cabinets would be an off-white color, sort of

The home was arranged in the shape of a Y, a central hub connected my bedroom and my writing room. It was a strange layout for a home, but I found it to be very comfortable. Of course, about an eighth of the living room was occupied by the eight or nine foot entertainment center. The entertainment center towered over all of us with dark and polished stained wood. The structure itself contained a late 1980s television, CD player, satellite, DVD and VHS player, and the collection of about ten million movies weighing it down to our hard wood floors. The bottom half had four drawers; three of which, held DVDs and VHS tapes. The bottom drawer had been broken for as long as I can remember, but we still jammed all of our extra blankets inside it. The top half, with all of the electronic appliances, had two large doors that never truly shut all the way because of the colossal TV. My dad had to be right because someday, it was bound to fall…

The kitchen is decorated with polished wooden cabinets and a squeaky clean stove that shows your reflection when staring down upon it. There is also a fridge in the back of the kitchen and the trash bin resides next to the fridge. Touring the rest of the apartment there is my bedroom, my sister’s room and the master bedroom. My room suits all my needs; whether it be sleeping, eating, studying, or relaxing. My getaway place is my room. There are two twin beds in my room, and a closet full of shoes and clothes. A 50 inch television sits on top of the only black sleek dresser in the room. My room is usually where I invite all my friends over and throw parties. In my sister’s room there is a formal setup, just a simple king sized bed and a beige headstand where she keeps her television. In the hallway there is a treadmill where users can burn off calories and improve cardio. There are two bathrooms in the apartment, inside them are white walls and brown tiles in the tub. Also a mirror is above the sink to make sure people arrange themselves properly before exiting. The master bedroom hosts a bathroom, closet, and a desktop on top of a glass computer…

A large bay window peeked into the fresh lawn outside and right in the middle of it sat an immense lime beanbag. I would slump easily into it, after a never-ending day of impossible math, to read contently. Of course, the book came from one of the two towering walnut bookcases, glimmering reddish in the irregular rays of sunlight. The room nearly flew to the sky giving the image of an ancient roman cathedral with vaulted ceilings. To the left of the beanbag nook, the king, feather-filled bed protruded like a needle perpendicular to the beige wall. The soft mattress was caringly wrapped in teal and lavender floral sheets. Across the room from the bed, and next to the book shelves, a small but neatly-kept L-desk waited to be used when homework time started. My overly used laptop and practically ancient printer sat on the desk, quietly keeping each other company. The last of the four large walls in my rectangular room held the door to the rest of the house in one corner. My matching walnut armoire occupied the middle of this wall, silently watching and looming over me like a protective giant. On the wall on top of the armoire, my much-appreciated flat screen TV took its place like a prince taking his thrown to become king. This meant there was still an enormous space in the middle of the room. What would I put there? A square, orange and fuzzy rug sheathed the naked oak floor. An eclectic couch made of a mosaic sprinkling of quilts sat on top. Yes that would be the finishing touch……

My grandmother’s house was a straight out of a good housekeeping magazine. Fresh roses grew along the side of the house along with snapdragons that were every color of the rainbow. The grass was always neatly cut and the color of sparkling emeralds. In the front of the house, a single tree grew with a red bird feeder attached to one of the lower branches. It had a spacious back yard with row of pear trees along the property line, a country garden and paint chipped metal swing set that was under a monstrous apple tree.…

The living room can be a place for family to gather, Sometimes I like to read when it’s peaceful and quiet. My family uses our living room for many things such as movie nights, sitting by the fire place during winter and throwing family gatherings. The place is used quite a bit at my house; it’s quite the popular place to be in. usually, when I’m home alone, I often watch television while having a snack. Though sometimes the room can be extremely loud and not a very good place to be in, I still love it no matter what. In my living room, we have a brown recliner chair. On the left side of the chair there is a black lamp beside four pictures that are not currently set up yet. On the right side of the recliner chair stand a table which holds our board games, books, magazines, and letters. By the table there is a chest of drawers which holds are pictures and decorations. Then we have our beautiful soft brown couch which is so comfortable and big. The multicolor ataman in front of our couch is used for decoration, but also as a foot rest. We also have a black fire place with a cabinet on the right side that holds our electronics and blankets. The black television is mounted on the wall above the fireplace. Having such a living room is a nice way to relax when coming home from a busy day. It brings families…
