Throughout all my conferences, I was able to go through all of the developmental domains with the parents. In the conference, I told
the family where I saw the child at the beginning of the semester, where to go forward in their child’s development and observations on the developmental domains that I documented throughout the semester.
I think that for me, I may have gone through more of my PowerPoint than others had (student teacher wise). I feel like I talked more and could have allowed the parents/family to ask more questions or tell me about their child. After talking with the teaching team, some of us followed our PowerPoint more while others used their outline more. Compared to all of my conferences, I felt as if my best one was my last one (with Easton). I felt comfortable and relaxed. This one was also at night and not during preschool which may have contributed to why it went so well. My one with Emily (Hazel’s mom) I felt was my worst. I felt as if I rushed through it. Another reason was that this one, I didn’t feel like I was having a conversation with the parent. My other two, I felt like I was just have a long one-on-one conversation with the parent throughout the conference. Overall, I felt there were slight differences but mainly the same.
