Basing my personal ethic on my parents’ way of life. Growing up I watched my parents and how they compared and decided different decisions. In a way my mom tends to jump the gun; while on the other hand, my dad takes a step back to compare the different possible options. Leaving me in between the two of them and learning from their mistakes. I now take a step back to observe everything and figure out what needs to be done. For example, my family currently has taken on a project of building a horse barn in our backyard. My mom wanted to get the barn up the quickest way which ended up leading to more delays. While my dad has sat back and calculated the measurements figuring out what options would work. Allowing my mom to see if you take your time and think the outcome out first you can get the job done in much more timely manner.
Deciding for my professional ethical decision making and ideas I stand by doing what I have established as right. I would hold people accountable to treating people with the respect that they would wish to be treated with. For people not to make knee-jerk reactions or decisions and to dissect the outcome of every situation. Taking a step back and understanding the other person’s position before “correcting”.
