My favorite place in the world is the Bahama Islands. There are many things that I liked about my visit there. My favorite thing was the incredible beaches. Also, the people there were really nice and friendly. In addition, I find the history to be very interesting.
I love the beaches because the sand is softer than most beaches. The water is beautiful because it’s clear and you can see down at the sand and the big rocks. Sometimes you can see small fish go by and pass through. The water is also very warm. The waves were fun to try and bodysurf in. I also love the sandbars you see out far because it shows it doesn’t get deep for a while. Another thing I like is the scenery of boats and people having fun. The beaches are big and there is still plenty of room for you to enjoy yourself. There also fun things to do at the beach. You can rent a jet ski, go parasailing, snorkel, windsurf, scuba dive or fish. There is something that everyone can do there. I would go back to visit any time.
The people there are really friendly. There are about 300,000 people living there and most of the population is West African. Their ancestors were slaves brought to work cotton fields until 1834 when Britain abolished slavery. After that life on the island changed a whole lot. The land was not good to farm so they became seamen. I learned that music is very important to them. You hear a lot of music when you are there. It is called Calypso music. The people are also very laid back. People don’t always understand why. I learned that it is because they have a good life in a land that gives them everything they need. They have learned that there is always time to worry about things tomorrow. The people I met mostly worked at the resort. They were really helpful and nice. When we were at the beach they would bring use food and drinks. They would also carry beach chairs to where you want to sit and bring you dry towels all the
