My First Day at Collage
My First Day at LUCT
This was one hell of a day. On this day I had times when I felt like going back home. Embarrassing situations were also a part of this good and bad day. Nevertheless hope was still gained and a good laugh from the day that had events which were unexpected. I guess being new at a school is never always a good experience.
When I arrived at Limkokwing University I was immediately filled with joy. This is because of design of the school that had a lot of high rising buildings which were encircled by an amazing garden. Also, when I stepped through the gate just as I thought the marvel was close to an end, I saw a shiny black Rolls-Royce Phantom for the first time in the parking lot and the pleasure continued. Then I arrived at the area that is called the Plaza. The Plaza is a place which has most of the school offices, restaurants and other facilities. The area looked nice and it had a lot of people who were from different regions who at the same time were also having different agendas .Some of the people were satisfying themselves with delicious food, others were in the gym burning calories from their bodies and the rest were going to different places.
After the great viewing I looked at my watch and saw that I was ten minutes late for my lesson so I rushed out of the Plaza and asked someone where the Foundation in Business class was and that was when the problems began. The person told me that they had just dropped off their son in the foundation class and that the class is the one written number ninety-eight in the last building. This information relieved me and then I went to the exact place that I was told. As soon as I arrived in the class things went up side down, this is because the things that the lecturer was teaching us seemed to be complicated. I began questioning myself if I should carry on with school in my life because I was not grasping on what was being taught. As the lesson continued, despite the complex information that we were

When I started my first semester at Florida SouthWestern, I found myself under a crushing amount of stress and believed I would be overwhelmed within the first week. I also convinced myself that the Cornerstone Experience was a significant waste of my time. However, throughout the semester my opinions changed as the course introduced me to several important topics that I found myself referring back to throughout the semester: financial literacy, time management and wellness and stress management.…

I graduated the university in Korea eighteen years ago and worked in a company for seven years. However, while I lived just as a wife and a mom, I lost my confidence to achieve something and forgot dreams that I want to come true in my own life. Therefore, I was afraid of going back to a college and studying in English after deciding to be an occupational therapist. I remember the first day in Cypress College last year. The first class that I took was a math class. Since I had graduated the high school twenty years ago, I forgot many formulas and solving methods in math, so I suffered from a lack of confidence after enrolling the class. I was shaking with fear that the professor might ask me a question. However, I tried to believe and encourage…

Today was terrible. It started out as any other typical day living at college. I woke up at 6:00 and went to the dining hall to get some breakfast, the usual eggs and bacon, after I went to my first class, Advanced Mathematics. Someday I hope to be a statistician, but my professor is a really hard grader.…

Classmate Introduction Essay You never really know what to expect your first day at a new college. You never quite know the people you’ll meet, or the overall vibe of the other students. I came to National Park College as a 28 year old. Recognizing that I’d more than likely be one of the oldest students in my classes, I didn’t really know how or if I would relate to the younger students (mostly 18 to 22 year olds).…

I attended the Academy For Advanced learners two days after my arrival. Me keeping hidden was a difficult task to achieve. In the halls I passed teachers, some with stern faces and some with bright smiles that seem to hide information not known among the student body. Entering my classes seemed to be all the same. The smell of apricot shaving cream and shea butter lotion with a hint of bodily sweat was all that seem to be different from home. Well besides the fact that the girls wore excessive amounts of makeup and very short skirts. Along with the massive football players. Everyone seemed to be, act, and look identical to each other except for one person. An older young man about the age of 19, His name Daniel Stenberg. He soon seems to become my closest friend. This was my first mistake.…

Over the next few days I gave myself pep talks regularly to calm my nerves about attending a new school with a population six times that of my old high school. When the first day of school finally rolled around I sort of felt happy. I was looking forward to a new start and an opportunity to make new friends, take different classes and learn more about my new environment. When I got onto the bus that morning I sat quietly as the rest of the bus was filled with the chatter of friends reuniting from their long exciting…

Sometimes is just good to sit back and relax instead of being the center of attention; to find out what all is going on around you. People around you never stop and they are always moving even though they are not talking directly to you, you can read their body language. All the new students today on campus was overjoyed and lost. The community room was crowdy and as you saw at the tables everyone sat with someone they knew. No one every branched out to someone they didn’t know, they all just stuck to what they knew. As they were walking around campus you could tell that they were ready and eager to come and they all would stop and questions because they just didn’t know. There were kids who would set in on a class and they were just glued…

I was fully optimistic that the day would go well, but it did not fall in the plan that I believed it would. It was the same routine in a new environment. My first day at Larned High School started like every first day before me. The principal, Mr. Langdon, gathered all the students and welcomed us into a new school year. The speech as long but informational. It was a familiar speech that I had heard every first day of school. Unfortunately, this familiarity would end, and now I was stuck roaming the halls in a new school looking for my first class.…

The bus finally arrived at its destination. I enthusiastically got off the bus facing the school gigantic gates. Since it was my first day, those moments supposed to be awkward and nerve-wracking. On the contrary, they were not because my older sister accompanied me to the school. So I felt so secure that I had no negative foresights about anything. I noticed seeing the doorman sitting on a chair in front of the gates. Despite the difficultness of noticing the smile on his wrinkled face, I could hardly see him smiling at me when he opened the gates for me to enter. My eyes gleamed by seeing the world behind the gates. I was very elated to see many girls wearing the same as me. To my great surprise, one of my second cousins was there with her mother. I was so happy that her mother left her with us.…

The red bricks, stacked on top of each other, distract me from realizing where I am going. Looking out the window, the tired teens sigh as the bus advances towards the building. Other large, yellow buses also approach the uneven sidewalk, which leads to the school. Finally exiting the tightly-packed bus, the exhausted teens walk slowly off the bus and onto the sidewalk. Walking within the crowd, each step I take becomes one step closer to the closed doors. These doors are the Gates of Hell. Once you enter, you cannot leave (until 2:14 PM). Inside, at a glance, everything appears to be white. Like a dirty white, or beige. Beige walls, with tape stuck in the crevasses of the bricks to hold up colorful and motivational posters, line the inside. The crowd advances at a slow pace like cars stuck in traffic. The smell of Axe rapidly fills my lungs. Suddenly, more and more brown doors start to appear on the beige walls. New hallways create an intersection. The tiles of the floor look like a heterogeneous mixture of tan, white, and black materials. A glass showcase, displaying the artistic abilities of many students, forms a five second art show. Even further, there’s “Main Street”. Composed of mainly lockers, this is the prime and busiest hallway in the building. Wandering around, I attempt to understand the confusing setup. Clenching onto my florescent orange paper, I discover new hallways branching off of Main Street. Hallways labeled “G Hall East”, “G Hall West”, “F Hall East”, “F Hall West” on wood with white, engraved letters. More brown doors are in these hallways. Each door leads to a different destination, yet each destination looks similar. The same heterogeneous mixture for tiles, the same beige brick walls, the same white boards, the same desks. Regressing to Main Street, I, and other baffled teenagers look like lost puppies as we continue to explore.…

The second bell rang and everyone rushed back to their respectively classes. This lesson was Geography lesson which I do not enjoy most. A new teacher step into the classroom and her fierce looking face really scared my class to total silence. She told us she has seen our Geography results for last year and told us if we work with her, we would be able to achieve better results. Everyone started to jeer at the teacher.
