After math I went to science which was the usual most boring part of my day. Why do I need to know biology if I’ll be working in the math field? It’s not like i’m gonna need to know how to find the volume of pentagon in statistics. After that I headed over to the cafeteria for some lunch. But on my way there, there was a shooting. Even though 86 percent of voters and several law enforcement organizations agencies pleaded against concealed
carry, lawmakers in legislature overrode the governor's veto on concealed carry in public, here in Missouri. A regular Joe was able to walk into the campus where I live, and bring a gun. I don’t understand why this was allowed. Especially after it has before. On August 1, 1966, a student was able to climb to the top of a clock tower and shoot 49 people, 16 of whom died. Even though security might not have been as secure back then, it still shouldn’t have happened. And now that security should be much more advanced it should be even more impossible for this to happen.
I can say, without a doubt, that this was the worst day of my life. I missed the rest of my classes, had to talk to my family and tell them that I am okay, comfort my friends, and I had to witness the most horrific event of my life.
Maybe more tomorrow, who knows, I need to get my mind off of this.
