my first day in college
Throughout life, sometimes change is the only thing that seems constant. Change has come to my life in many ways, in myself and in my surroundings. At the same time, some things stay the same – and this is when traditions are formed. I am often reminded of this by the photograph that sits by my bed.My first day at college was also a new change,an important event of my life. To me it is an unforgettable day. During my school days, i had a glimpse of college life. I thought that the college life would offer me a free life; full of fun and less restrictions.
At last the day came. I was admitted to the United College of my city. I entered there withe a new hope and aspiration.i found all newly admitted students in high spirits. They were all happy to make friends. I moved round the college. As I did not know any one in my class and there was some time left for the lecture to begin. I felt really awkward sitting in the class simply doing nothing. I think most of the girls feel this way for the first time, unlike boys who still manage to make friends as soon as they enter the class. I think they bond sooner.Few minutes later, a girl came and sat besides me. When two girls meet as strangers, they either become good friends or end up as great enemies later. Fortunately, Pratu and I were trying to be friend with each other. I was happy with my first day in United. Although first days are meant to be something special, and it was a special and a memorable day for me. Love the college.

The transition from high school to college presents us all with many new challenges. The workload may feel overwhelming and the surroundings will be unfamiliar. We will have to take on the responsibility of managing life on our own. But the biggest challenge will be learning to embrace the unfamiliar, all the while searching for that small space we can comfortably inhabit. I don’t think our challenge is learning to live as a little fish in a big pond, but rather finding our small pond within the…

My freshmen year gives an objective look into the ideal freshmen year of college experienced by anthropologist Rebekah Nathan. From this
experience Nathan wrote about her first year as a college student. Nathan’s story attempts to show the social and academic expectancy of a student entering college. Nathan gave her personal accounts of freshmen life by
communicating her experience in the dorm, study habits, general
student interactions, and demographic. When comparing student life at Albion to that depicted in Nathan’s account, I could make generalizations but as Nathan also found, no student or campus is alike.…

In the first year of college, I had to face many new things. I felt nervous and a little excited. I thought, “ it’s my first semester of college in America, try being open-minded.” I imagined many bad and good situations, and how to deal with them because I thought it would relieve my perturbation, but it was not. I was getting more afraid and more nervous. I kept struggling with those thoughts for a whole first semester. Walking through the class’s door, with people speaking a new language, I saw people greeting, talking, having fun… They looked excited and happy. In opposition, I sat alone in the…

As I opened the glass doors on a blustery fall morning, strange faces walked past me. Everyone looked at me and silently asked themselves: Who is this new girl? Why haven’t I seen her in any of my classes? I was alone in this world of people I had never seen before. Leaving my old friends and classmates behind, little did I know that sophomore year was the year my education was going to be more than just textbooks and novels.…

After ending this first year of college I experienced a lot of things and I will remember most of them for the rest of my life. I have experienced some good things and some others that have not been that good, but probably that is part of college and being away from home. Obviously, I would like to have changed some of those, but some others I would not have changed.…

Walking into a brand new school for the first time with a bundle of happiness and a twisted knot in your stomach indicating just how nervous you really are, sure is a way to start your first day of high school. It is natural on the part of every student to remember the first day at school. Recently, I just became a 9th grader. I remember the day as a unclear haze, that resembled a impossible puzzle to complete. The night before was spent with stories of high school back in the last couple decades or so. Ever so often was an, "Oh you'll blend in," "You've grown so much," and "I cannot believe you're already in high school." Eventually the praise died down and it was time to climb into bed.…

When I entered my college for the first day, I looked around with a mixed feeling of perplexity, joy, and a little bit of fear. I was puzzled as I was not habituated to college life. After checking around and looking for my class, I saw other students in batches were moving up and down the corridors for their classes; professors were coming smilingly and exchanging greetings with the students in a friendly manner which helped me to calm down and gave me the confidence to move on without being too nervous.…

Well my first week of school at North Carolina Central University is finally over. Looking back on my week I notice this week has had its ups and downs from the café to my roommate. Campus life is nothing like what I expected it to be there are a lot more people than I imagined. I knew there were going to be thousands of people but lord I am more than over whelmed. And on top of all the people the campus layout and hills are and were about the kill me I have never felt such a burning sensation in my legs. Four out of five of my classes are right beside each other so it’s not that bad but that walk to my Learning of Dimensions class is horrible I have the walk all the way to the School of Education building. Praise the lord that’s my last class of the day, if I had another class after that I don’t know how I would do it. I have the say I love my schedule everyday my classes start at 8 o’clock and my last class for the day ends around 10:25. This leaves me with the rest of the day to study and relax.…

It was a beautiful day with many clouds that seemed to be dancing on the sky. I was standing still in front of a strange building. Suddenly everything became very special to me. I stepped back and thought about the time I was in high school. The memories came back very emotionally, I remember the good time I had in high school, I was now scared of moving away. Then I realized that I should leave what happened in the past behind, stepped forward, and opened widely the door of that strange building. I knew that there were a lot of new things to be discovered on the first day at college – Houston Community College.…
