Introduction: Making it big in this world of great competition takes hard work and sacrifices to achieve your goal. A general practitioner also known, as physician is a fulfilling and well-known career because it gives a doctor the knowledge to help people find the cure to their illness and maintain them healthy. Doctors have such a passion for people that they will do the impossible, possible to help people survive their problem. Many individuals think that this career is for people that have money but is not really about the doctor and his or her duty, it’s really all about the individual they are working with. I love the fact that doctors treat people like if it was their life, it’s not love for the money its love for the society. People often ask me why did I choose this particular career path, and the only response I give them is that its amazing to help people and that I want to serve people in need no matter the circumstances. In all around the world there are so many types of doctors that are specialized in different fields. What is a general practitioner? According to the Occupational Outlook Handout a general practitioner is a doctor that examines patients, takes medical histories, and prescribes medications. (Pg. 466) They look after people from birth to death and all in between. (Video) Usually a general practitioner has long-term patients because they are the ones that mainly focus on injuries and infections. They have this type of job mainly because they love people and they don’t want to see you suffering. (Dr.Arton). The question is this, what personality characteristic is likely required for this career? In most careers, as a professional you need to be responsible and respectful. A general practitioner must be very compassionate and caring person. (Shelly, Page 2, 2007) Anybody could say that their personality matches with their future career but not
