My long-term goal is to have a career in pharmacy. I want to pursue a career in pharmacy because pharmacists play an important role in society which I want to be a part of. Most people think pharmacists only hand out prescriptions, but they do so much more, especially educating patients about their medications. This education includes identifying dosage, listing possible side effects, and communicating proper usage of the medication, which is important to the patient’s health and well being. Good pharmacists are not just ”good with people”, they also care about their patients. I love working directly with people. I am very much a “people person” and need to have a career where I interact with others. I also naturally care about other people very much, which would allow patients to feel comfortable talking to me about their medication. Another reason I want to become a pharmacist is I have always wanted a career in healthcare. I looked into all possible healthcare careers and decided on pharmacy due to my passion for chemistry. I love chemistry because it is literally everywhere around us. I also find reactions between chemicals very interesting. It amazes me how combining a group of chemicals together can lead to a new and different compound. I am eager to learn more about the chemical composition of medications that cure everyday and severe illnesses.
Getting the very best education is the only way I can become the best pharmacist I can be. I have challenged myself all through out my high school career by taking the most advanced courses available at my school. I have also taken many courses that are offered for college credit. Wanting to
