As people mention the virtue, generosity, they always conceive of an image of a wealthy philanthropist who donates his money to people in need. However, in my opinion, the concept of generosity exceeds the narrow connotation of giving to others, and not only can rich people become generous; rather, generosity comprises of empathy to share others’ feelings, magnanimous tolerance towards other people, and returning to them with kindness.…
I very much enjoy doing things for others. I have previously utilized a servant evangelism method with my family. We have RAK (Random Acts of Kindness) days where we will do random acts of kindness such as leave quarters at a laundromat, pay for a person’s meal in the drive-thru, leave money at massage chairs in the mall, leave cards made by the children in hospital waiting rooms, etc. All of these things are left with a note that says this is a random act of kindness, and to pay it forward. There are also Bible verses and tracts explaining salvation that we leave as well. While I realize this is a “secret” type of giving, we are still planting a seed in the…
Generosity is immensely moral and important in a good society and I value it highly. Being generous also makes you more satisfied, happy, healthy, and improves your relationship with people. I believe everyone should give whether it be time spent volunteering and or money in the form of a donation as it is a phenomenal life lesson. I am going to make major donations to places like the women's shelter, the rescue mission, Love Inc. ( Love In the Name of Christ) and churches, including my own, First Presbyterian Church, along with any organization that improves the life of Alaskans.I will do these things along with giving my time. Sponsoring young athletes and scholars every year as a means of rewarding hard work is but another way I am going to help Alaska. Moreover, I have gotten the idea to reward members of each tier of my employees with luxuries also for the work and that they are going to be carrying out. Lastly, I also want to help donate to research and support of victims of our current opium and heroin problem that has grown in rent…
I have been planning goals for myself since I was in the 7th grade. Some of those goals have already been accomplished and what joy has come over for me for making my dream goals reality. These goals change all of the time, from my major, to colleges and even where I want to reside after I graduate college. I have narrowed down my list though to a few more goals.…
It is better to give than receive. This phrase has been spoken daily in almost every walk of life. Although it may hold truer to some than others, the meaning is the same regardless where you are from, live, or how you were raised. Giving is the act of freely transferring the possession of something or someone, yet it has much more meaning and depth than that. While some may think of giving as a chore, or a burden, others relish at the chance. Seeing giving as a blessing they are able to hand out, a gesture that requires little thought or persuasion. Throughout life there are many opportunities to give back, or pay it forward. Enhancing others quality of life simply by giving up a portion of one’s time. As this thinking often blurs…
Anne Frank once wrote, “No one has ever become poor by giving.” This is an important thing to remember because it does not take much to help others, even smiling at someone could lift their spirits and change their day around. I went to help serve silver supper on Christmas Day last year, which was a chance to help the people who needed it. Do what you can to help others because it feels amazing to know you helped another person, it could mean a lot to…
“Setting goals is the first step in turning the invisible into the visible.” - Tony Robbins. Hard work, goals are hold much important for every individual if they plan to successful. Determination plays a big role in my character, which assists me in reaching my goals.…
Before, I was all about myself, I knew what I needed and knew what to do to get what I needed. But since I have had this experience I have decided that giving is the life for me. I now see that I am not the only person in the world that has needs, and I am also not the only person in the world who struggles to meet said needs. And I believe that if I lead the rest of my life giving, I could inspire someone else to give, too. Luther was all it took to start the peasant revolt. That alone is enough proof that if one mind changes, several will follow after it. If we all become giving citizens maybe we can all find our inner…
In our current society, there is the expectation of having more and more. It could be something as simple as a material good, or it could go beyond that where we want to have the whole world in the palm of our hands. There is not necessarily something wrong with that, but then there’s the question of, “How much is too much?” At what point does an individual have enough? How can an individual be fulfilled? As a Christian, I’m constantly reminded that a Christian is that who gives without expecting nothing, however, in today’s world giving has become very difficult.…

Reaching out for success can be daunting, especially if you are tied down by the chains of greed, selfishness and unhappiness. Generous people have long found out that success is not really striving to get a million dollars, or owning luxury cars, but rather being able to do what you really want, and knowing between what is real and what is superficial. The interesting paradox happens when you observe generous people - they give out what they can, but they never seem to lack or run out of life's given treasures!…

My major goal in life is to become an elite officer in the Army CAG (Delta Force). The Army ROTC is a direct route into this process by graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and at the same time becoming an Army Commissioned Officer. At that point, my next move is start my track to entering the Ranger Battalion or becoming a Green Beret. The Army ROTC curriculum will help enhance my leadership skills so that I may become an elite operator who will be able to lead his men with, not only the experiences and knowledge gained through ROTC, but in life. As I have enjoyed and excelled through my years of Army JROTC I wish to continue with the Army as they have invested time and money into just as a cadet making career obligation…
I believe in the act of giving to others rather than holding onto things for us. I believe that when we give to others we become stronger and sometimes benefit more than the person receiving. I stand by the saying “nobody ever went broke from giving.” I will incorporate positivity and the act of giving into my…
Everyday, millions of poor people wander the streets trying to better themselves, only to be casted out by society. I sometimes try to give those poor souls some loose change because I know that they are struggling. Likewise, if I see someone drop something, I’ll help them pick it up. Even if I hear about the struggles that people are enduring in foreign countries, I try to help out in any way that I can. I do these things because I know that they are helping people, and I know that my actions are appreciated. This is called being generous, and after seventeen years of being exposed to the cruelness of this world, it is definitely the most important quality to have.…
