my imaginary trip
My imaginary trip around the world If you had the possibility of choosing a destination for a free month’s holiday, would you choose a single place or visit different countries? Well, if that would ever occur to me, I would feel very excited and, at first, I wouldn’t know where to go.
Both options have advantages and disadvantages: If I went to many different places my holiday would be more varied and exciting , but if I chose one single place my knowledge of the country would be deeper, and I could understand a lot about it.
In the end, I think I would choose at least three different places. That is the USA, India and New Zealand. I would go to the USA first, and I would start my visit there by visiting New York. I have heard that New York is a very exciting city. I imagine that there are a lot of tourists attractions, that the buildings are spectacular, the food varied and tasty but I also expect the people there to be unfriendly. After two or three days in New York I would fly to Los Angeles. Since some of my dad’s friends live in that area, I expect to stay a couple of days with them and that they show me all there’s to see there. This could save me precious time and allow me to see more. Perhaps I’d even get the chance to go north and visit San Francisco. I would then leave the States and fly to New Zealand where I’d be prepared to stay a couple of weeks.
I have always been fascinated with the story of native Neo Zealanders, the Maori warriors, so I would first visit the North Island, where the Maori population has always been concentrated. Observing and learning from a different culture is always a rewarding experience, and in my case my knowledge about the different aspect of the Maori culture will be directed in particular to the significance of the ancient art of “Ta moko”, that is the art of Maori tattoos. To be honest, I have never liked tattoos, or, I’d better say, I don’t agree with the tattoo fashion

    Imaginative Journeys

An imaginative journey can be defined as an extension of reality that transcends physical barriers. Through the use of abstract notions and an element of surrealism, an imaginative journey can result in distortion of the boundaries between imagination and reality. This type of journey involves readers by drawing on their imagination and can therefore result in the transformation of perceptions and attitudes, which may also stimulate a sense of enlightenment for both the characters and the responder. These characteristics are evident in the three texts I have studied, “The Tempest” by William Shakespeare, Victor Fleming’s, “The Wizard of Oz” and “Sky High” by Hannah Robert.…

Tattoos have recently become increasingly popular in youth, due to the hidden meanings and symbolism that they are endowed with. Helen Day’s opinionative blog entry, The Power of Ink, asserts that the significance of tattoos have diminished due to the fashionable aesthetics that tattoos project. A highly casual, yet acknowledging tone characterises her blog entry, which is predominantly catered to young Australian readers who are interested in receiving a tattoo. Accompanying her blog entry is a number of comments which both support and criticise the new phenomenon of tattoos. Poignantly complementing her article is an image of Ta Mako tattoos, a Maori form of body art, and the front cover of the written work “No tattoos before you’re thirty by San De Brilo.…

Firstly, I would treasure visiting England because I would travel to London, the capital of England and is considered to be one of the most sophisticated places in the world. Another cousin of mine got to study abroad there and has “mastered the art” of observing the whole city in two days! I would also love to tour the Beatles museums and walk down Abbey Road because their music is as beautiful as one’s childhood. Secondly, I would want to journey England on my European adventure is because I would travel to the primary beach town in England, Brighton. Brighton would be an incredible place to go because not only do they have a beach, but they have charming shops and restaurants that are widely known all throughout England. The final place I would visit in England while on my Europe trip is the city of Oxford. This city would be so pleasant to go to because of their college, Oxford University, which is one of my dream colleges. C.S. Lewis’ house is also present where you can explore the house and examine where he wrote his most widespread series, Narnia. As a result, my respect for England and my yearning to go there brings me back to my desire to travel through…

Paul Fussell once said, “All the pathos and irony of leaving one’s youth behind is thus implicit in every joyous moment of travel: one knows that the first joy can never be recovered, and the wise traveler learns not to repeat successes, but tries new places all the time.” Going around the world would be a fascinating goal for the future. Meeting new people and getting to grasp what the world is like . Traveling would be interesting to do in the future because first I can challenging myself, second the adventures, and third to appreciate life.…

Secondly, I love traveling to other countries. I love visiting new places because I can experience different cultures and meet different people who I wouldn't normally get to meet. When I go abroad, I really get the feeling that I'm living in a big world and that all my worries are so small and pointless. It would be great to go to a country I have never been to before. I've heard from many people who've been to Europe that Barcelona was the best place they'd ever visited. Barcelona is a city that has beautiful beaches and is known for having sunny and clear weather, so if I had a chance of going to any country I wanted to, I'd choose Barcelona as my ideal vacation location.…
