Although majority of my courses requires a step by step calculation, but I can still consider myself an active learner, simply because I take notes in class, and also participate in class discussions. Therefore, on my online assessment, I scored a 3 on my active learning aspect. I would say I am also a sensing learner, and this is based on a particular course I took last semester called Statistics and Probability. I chose this learning preference because I feel critical thinking skills is something I lack, and I hope to improve on as I move forward in my academics. After finding out my learning preferences, and also realizing that every individuals have different learning preferences, this has really changed my mind to be more open that not every individual learn the way I do. This has changed my mind in the sense that if I see an individual in class without taking notes, and just looking at board or teacher, without learning about different learning preferences, I would have guessed that the student is not focused or engaged in class, meanwhile the student might me a reflective learner. If placed in a team, I would make sure all team members are familiar with each other's learning preferences, therefore no one would be assumed to be unserious or not
