When scraping the natron still left on the apple, it was soft and mushy, like mud. It also looked like snow. After cleaning it, the apple still looked like it was dirty because I think the baking soda stuck onto it. Then I grabbed my materials to make the scented oil mixture. I got some turmeric spice and corn oil. I mixed a teaspoon of each ingredient and mixed them both together. After they were mixed, I poured the mixture on to the apple and rubbed the apple.
At the end, I wrapped toilet paper around the apple to make the mummy. But, to finish the complete project, I decorated the sarcophagus, and put the mummified apple in it.
I’d say that the project turned out successful, but I can’t be sure until a while, because I need to see if it’ll preserve over time.
I can see the difficulties when the Ancient Egyptians had to do the process of mummification. Instead of just putting an apple in a homemade natron mixture and waiting, they had to open a human body, take out some organs, and wait even longer.
