After completing the first 50 question portion of the competition, I contented to that dreadful skill round yet I felt prepares, well as prepared as one can be when teaching themselves. And this is where my story comes full circle. With me waiting nervously to be called. After completing the skill, I found out that I had advanced from regional to State competitions. I was ecstatic, and that when I felt it, the feeling of belonging. I knew that was what I wanted to do in the future, I not only saw this as a profession but as my goal, knowing that it would be something that I would wake up every day happy and excited to do. The ability to help so many people every day, to impact a whole family and knowing that you were there for someone in their most vulnerable state makes this such a rewarding carrer to me. This became part of my identity as I have participated in that same competition for three years now. Every year being more excited than the last. Participating in that first competition had opened a new world to me, teaching me so many valuable life skills such as patience, determination, and the importance of having a goal in life. It continues to motivate me every day to do the best that I can do
