Describe any significant person, event, or happening that has influenced you:
My great uncle Eddie greatly influenced the person I am now. He was the kindest, compassionate, charismatic, and unconditional loving person I have ever met. He taught me the values of hard work, respect, and a how to be a leader in my own way. No one ever had anything to say bad about him. He was a talented wood carpenter whom always won awards at county fairs. He treated my great aunt like a queen and showed me how I should be treated. My family has grown closer together since his passing causing us to appreciate the time we have on earth. It has been seven months since he passed and not a day goes by I wish to …show more content…

Have you overcome a challenge? (i.e. changed schools, self-esteem, academic performance, disease, handicap) Respond in detail: A challenge I have had to overcome in my life is my parents financial stability and job stability. After my mother was physically hurt at work and could no longer to work both jobs, our financial problems became prevalent in my life. My mother had costly doctor's visits and my dad had just started a new job. As the years by at times we would have less than twenty dollars on the bank account. We could no longer buy supplies needed for my school projects. I would have to scrape up loose change to attend dances .Entering high school my father and I started drawing social security. We have not had financial trouble in the past three years and have been able to take vacations in great
distances.
7. Have you held any leadership positions? Can you think of a time when you showed leadership ability?

Cheering on my team from the sidelines during the first round of the state play offs in soccer showcased my leadership ability. It was a cold, windy, dark rainy day and the first round of the play offs. All during the game I was encouraging my team to cheer for the players even when we were down goals. We lost by two goals but the passion everyone had for the game gave me hope for the upcoming season. 8. Can you think of a time when you have shown initiative or creativity? Every forensics piece I have ever done where I created my own blocking, voices, and gestures. I also auditioned for governor's school for the performing arts for Drama and had to do a 90 minute monologue and Improve skits with people I had just met. I was not accepted but I been in multiple plays and musicals.
9. What things are you passionate about? (hobby, political issue, sport, music, etc.)
Soccer, Tennis, Theater, Cooking, Reading, Traveling

I have been told from competitors in forensics I am a happy person who looks like they enjoy the other competitors pieces.
I have a friendly nature and a strong love for my family

12. Do you have financial need? Please explain.
My father is retiring in June so my parents will loose 21,000 to 24,000 in yearly income( including my social security). I will also loose my social security I draw off of him which is 800 dollars a month which is 9,600 a year
