Based on the nursing models, the patient who is the primary recipient of nursing care is the central to all models (Catalano, 2012, p. 41). I think it’s the most important out of the four because nursing would not exist if it were not for the patients. Nurse’s must be committed and have a strong passion for their own work in order to administer the best care based on their abilities. Each patient should be given the best quality of care regardless of race, lifestyle, religious belief, or disability. They must also be advocates for their patients by encouraging them to be active in their own care in order to maintain life, health, and well-being. Not only do nurses must care for the patient but also provide emotional support and encouragement. No patient deserves to die alone.
