My Nursing Values

My personal definition of values is the set of principles one uses as a guide to direct their lives. I feel my personal values which I utilize in my nursing practice are very close if not identical with those of the National League of Nursing (NLN). The NLN’s core values are caring, integrity, diversity, and excellence (NLN, 2017). In addition to the previous four values, stewardship is another principle that is very important to my day-to-day existence as a person and nurse. Moreover, my spiritual beliefs as a Christian embodies those same five core values. My faith taught me to be kind, caring, respectful of others, try my best, and be mindful of all resources and gifts granted by God.
