Holidays and birthday parties that are spent at Oma and Opa’s house are hectic. Trapped in a small white, worn down house filled with thirty people. All compacted and smothered together like a filled Gumball machine. Small children with mouthfuls of candies and spit running down their chin, weaving through the legs of adults trying to tag one another. From my opa i get my last name Vandepol which was passed to him and then passed down to me from my father.The origin of my last name is Dutch, but my first name has an unknown origin. Simply because it is not Dutch or indonesian and google doesn't have an answer for me either.
