My Personal Well-Remembered Event
My personal well-remembered event started back when I was in the 3rd grade. I was about 9 years old, in a classroom with about 20-25 students. My teacher was Mrs. Lopez and she was not particularly my favorite teacher. Therefore, I did no feel comfortable talking to her when there was an issue and I certainly didn’t want her to confront me about a problem, because she intimidated me tremendously! It all started on an typical morning, after we had put away our backpacks, lunches, turned in our homework, and were quietly waiting in our desk for further instruction. I remember sitting next to my best friend, Lauren Bon. She was always there for me and we both had each other backs in situations that would occur. But not on this particular day! As we were all settling in, I heard the teacher give her cue to listen up and pay attention. The boy across from us was still talking but fairly quietly. I hoped I was the only one who heard this mean comment but they were giggling and he said “Ellen is so dumb!” I was mortified, but tried my very best to cover up my embarrassment and move on. I was very uncomfortable …show more content…
On this particular day, one child left school in tears. Crying to the point of barely being able to breath. He was so hurt by his peers that he told Mrs. Tucker he “didn’t want to come to school ever again!” This event happened in a 1st and 2nd grade ELL classroom after the students were finished their lunches, and time on the playground. There were about 15 students running around crazy trying to get settled in when this boy, “William” ran into another boy, “Sebastian.” Sebastian made an incredibly hurtful comment to the rather larger set little boy. He said to William he was “the fattest person in the class.” He followed that rude remark with the expression, “EW!” Mrs. Tucker was dumbfounded by the comment and pulled the two students for a

I am amazed that Carrie isn’t crying in a corner right now for goodness sakes!”…

I remember the first day of school. I was so excited and nervous at the same, feeling like i had a pit in my stomach. Me and my dad were doing a line that was for the new students. There was a chubby girl with braces and long hair with her dad in the line that was for the kids who were already enrolled in the school. My dad started making conversation with the girl’s dad talking about how it was my first time going to school in the United States.…

During my semester in Nature of the Learner I was placed in a second grade classroom at Johnson Street Elementary. This was a global studies school. I was very hesitant on my first day of going into the school. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect but I was excited to be in the classroom because second grade was my favorite age group to work with. During this placement I assumed that I would help out the kids within the class but I didn’t. My teacher had me help out this one little guy every week. I was able to help him with his writing and math. I enjoyed doing that but that left me with about five minutes in the actual classroom to observe. During this short amount of time I would walk around the room and ask the children if they needed help.…

I thought it was going to be a normal day in first grade.. Boy was I wrong! We were learning about different plants and animals. And of course, insects. At the time, I went to an elementary school called Thunder Mountain Elementary, in Grand Junction. We were sitting in groups and the lights were off with the projector on. If I remember correctly, we were also taking notes. Our teacher, Ms. White was, well, teaching us. That’s kinda what teachers do. Maybe teachers do other things we aren’t aware of.. Nah. In second grade, teachers were like, Einstein and the smartest of mentors, not saying that people still don’t think that now. Teachers are awesome and have some of the best or worst stories to tell. But, before today, I didn’t really mind…

A mole is just another common mark on the body, which everyone has, so what’s the big deal, right? Well, some are just common markings, while others can be life threatening. My family learned this all too well back in February of 2014. It’s never a perfect visit to the dermatologist when you get a mole removed from your head, only to find out after testing that it was positive for melanoma. I remember a minor surgery was performed on the neck and two lymph nodes were removed to be tested. Great news everybody, they were found to be cancer free! Now, stop and think how many lymph nodes are in your body.…

As I entered first grade in Religious Education, the smile on her face told me that this was going to be fun and exciting. The teacher seemed happy and comfortable to have me as her student. All of the other kids came in, introducing ourselves to the teacher and talking about our summer. The room was small, but was enough for her to teach. The first day of school began and ended with a treat she brought for us. Since the start, I knew that I would get along with her just fine…

In fifth grade my teacher gave the class a writing assignment. I don’t remember what it was about but I do remember that I was very good at it. He gave us some time to do this and after we were done writing he asked some of us to come up and read what we wrote to the class. I ended up raising my hand, despite of how shy and nervous I was talking in front of my classmates. I…

In first grade, it was my first year in public school so I didn’t have as much friends as the the people that were in kindergarten last year. When I walked into the room, both of my parents on each of my side they introduced to my teacher then I sat in the empty seat. The person assigned to sit next was a girl named Chloe. At first sight, I mesmerized by the amount of silly bands she had. At that moment I knew I had to be her friend.…

Sixth grade, the first year in the new middle school building. It was about the third week into school and a teacher came up to me and asked me to watch over this kid named Justin. (He was different from everyone else, he had a birth-defect.) I said sure, why not, he seems to be nice. He only had one friend, and that one friend I wouldn't say was a good one. Later that week I was called into the disciplinarian's office, her name was Mrs. Landry. She was the seventh grade Social Studies teacher. So wanted me to tell her everything that happened, I didn't what to tell her,…

It was a normal September morning. I was in my second grade class with my favorite teacher Mrs. McClellan. We had just arrived to school and put our backpacks in the closet. We had already been through the normal announcement process and said “The Pledge of Allegiance.” My teacher wanted us to clean our desks with shaving cream, so my classmates and I were spraying shaving cream all over the desks and playing around when our class phone rang. My teacher answered the phone and began to shake. She dropped the phone suddenly and fell to her knees and began to cry. All I remember seeing after that was our principle and other teachers scrambling to get all of us out of school and on to the buses as quickly as possible.…

My teacher ran after me and asked me if I was okay and if I wanted her to talk to someone for me. I looked at her and replied assertively that I didn’t need help, but I wanted to move seats since I sat right next to her. She moved me next to someone who I never really talked to, she was a new girl in 8th grade and I was only in 7th. She was smiling and asked me how my day was and if I was alright and needed anything. She was very kind and cared a lot about how I was. The entire time we were not singing we were talking about our lives. We became good friends. Sadly, she did not have my lunch. I ended up searching for someone I knew at lunch instead of sitting at my old table. I saw an old friend from elementary school and asked her if I could sit with her, she said yes and we began to catch up on old times. We rekindled our friendship and I grew happy…
