MY FAVOURITE ROOM
My house is quite large. It has four bedrooms, three bathrooms, a kitchen, a study’s room, a living room and a dining room.
My favourite room is my bedroom. I love it because it is the only room in my house where I can do whatever I want. After a long hard day, all I want to do is go up to my cosy bedroom and listen to some music, lie in my bed or even watch a T.V or maybe a relaxing film. This room is very special to me because I’m being there for over ten years. It is a part of me. It is full of my personal possessions and it has been decorated with myself.
So what does this special room look like? Well, it's quite big, but not too much. It's big enough to hold a double bed, which take up the back wall of the room. Opposite of the bed there is a dressing table with a large mirror. This is the place where I sit every morning to choose the clothes that I’m going to put that day. On the left of my room is full of ancient toys, games, clothes and books. My television and video recorder are on a table and I have a selection of my favourite videos in a wardrobe: Pretty Woman, Dirty Dancing... On the left hand of my bed, to the left of the door, I have my stereo. Also I have photos of my friends and family. These photos bring back memories of happy times spent.

The kitchen in my home represents memories of family meals, warmth, and togetherness. I remember coming home after school and smelling the mild aroma of Indian spices that my mother was cooking with and the tantalizing curry that she would make. The kitchen was a small, dimly lit room with bamboo flooring and wallpaper that did not match it at all. The pictures which hung on the ugly wallpaper were of my siblings and me, reminding me of my childhood. While the kitchen certainly contributed to the warmth and security of my house, my bedroom was where I felt the most secure.…

Like all homes, my home contains a kitchen. The kitchen represents fond memories of my mom cooking large family dinners on Sundays and togetherness. One fond memory would be coming home from a ride around the neighborhood on my dirt bike and smelling the aroma of baking ham in the oven with a faint hint of freshly baked bread.…

In the short story “My Parent’s Bedroom” by Uwem Akpan, the country of Rwanda is having a civil war between the Hutus and Tutsis, the primary trying to eradicate the latter. The Hutus force Papa to kill Maman, which she convinces him that it was only solution. However, it wasn’t the best choice in his family’s situation. The Wizard and the Hutus arrive to ensure that Papa slays his Tutsi spouse, Maman. Papa murders her to please the crowd, “If you let any Tutsi live, you’re dead. And then they begin to leave, some patting him on the back,” (27). I find this to be the only major decision made in the story because it severs the whole family’s connection with one another, and especially leaves Monique traumatized. There were few consequences,…

    My Bedroom

I like my bedroom the most in my house because it is a place I can study and relax. Right at the corner of the room is a queen size bed which takes most of the space of my room. The bedspread is light pink and matches with the dark pink flower blanket. My iPod is always under my pink pillow so that I can listen to music or watch a movie when I am about to go to sleep. Next to the bed is a two drawer wood nightstand with a classic night lamp and a pink alarm clock on its top. Above the top of my bed is a window that I open every morning for the sunshine go through and to hear the birds sing. The wall is painted white which makes my room look a little bit bigger. In the left corner of the room is a closet which is half organized. My clothes and bags are separated by a shelf. The clothes are hung in order by color and look very neat under the shelf, but the bags on the shelf are pretty messy. At the back of the room is a small desk which I use every day for studying and reading. Whenever I get home, the first thing I do is go in my room and lie down on my bed. It makes me feel very relax and peaceful when I just look around my room or through the window. In a word, although my bedroom is pretty small, it is the place that I can enjoy my own world every…

My room is my one and only domain where I carry out various leisure activities such as studying, watching films and television, listen to music, talk on the phone, surf the internet, etc. My room is painted all pink; also, most of the things in my room are all pink. As someone enters my room, the first thing that he or she will see is a cream dresser with a stylish design coated on it. In it, lie all my clothes and personal belongings. Then on the other side of my room, a black plasma television resided on the wall which I enjoy watching my favorite movies, and television shows. Opposite of that, is my full size bed which has pink covers. Also right behind it is the room window, which has sparkly and pink curtains. Next to my bed I have a nightstand where my stereo is on top of it; also on one of the drawers I have my favorite book. On the wall next to my bed, I have a huge sign that says "PRINCESS", and around it are pictures from my sweet fifteen. Across from my bed I have my studying and relaxing area where I have a pink desk with my laptop and printer. Right next to it I have a beanbag chair with reading books around it, and that's where I relax, read, and study. Then I have a walk-in closet where I have lots of shoes, clothes, school supplies, and personal belongings. My room is my absolute favorite room in the house, that's where I study and relax. I enjoy my room, and I enjoy doing pretty much anything as long as it's in my…

Other than my bedroom, I would also have a humungous closet, as big as my bedroom where I could hide all my stuff. My closet would have many little hatches in the ground, randomly spaced, to put valuable things in. For fun, I could hide in the hatches myself, and feel like a little boy again. I could disappear and scare my mother, just like I did when I was five. My closet would also have a pullout bed on the wall, if a guest came. The most special of all, the closet would have a grand bathroom. A sterling white marble restroom, with a shower and two sinks. My closet would be a safe house for me. Just like my bedroom.…

Your master bedroom is your private sanctuary. It is where you sleep, relax, dream, make love with your spouse, and also get away for some alone time when necessary. Make your master bedroom a calm retreat. Make it a place that both of you love to be in. Choose colors, textures and patterns that are gender neutral and soothing to the senses.
