members of the group wanted to do a total different idea and start from scratch. With a deadline, looming over our heads, I knew we had absolutely no time for do-overs. I expressed myself and explained that in order to gather the money we absolutely could not restart. Of course, some agreed and some disagreed. Some argued that we would not get enough money. And some, including myself, knew the idea of starting over was not an option. We clearly had to get something done, for we were wasting time having the argument in the first place. I boldly stated that in order for us to complete this dance and get it ready for the upcoming competition, we needed to move on. The majority of the group agreed, and we gathered the money on time. In order to be a success, you must first learn to coexist and cooperate with others.
Even though my opinion on keeping the same plan stayed, I was still able to compromise and please the entire group. Keeping my own opinion, no matter the judgment of others, and compromising for the benefit of the entire group are skills that will aid me in life for years to come. I am glad I was given this conflict and realize that I am made a better person because of it. Knowing that I stayed strong, but was still able to help the group stay on track, gives me joy and
satisfaction.
