My Senior Year Research Paper
I have had many important experiences in my life, but my most important experience was senior year of high school. During this time, I learned who I wanted to be, how to face all of my difficulties, and I was the first to graduate on moms side of the family. At first, I wanted to be a psychologist for children; Therefore, I took a psychology in my junior year. The class did not intrigue my interest that much, but I still decided to take AP psychology my senior year. My interest for psychology never grew as the year went on. I started to take a bio med class. In this class, we were able to learn about all the medical fields, taught how to save lives, and hands on learning with what all medical fields do. That is when I decided I wanted to be a nurse. Something about helping people and knowing I can save them makes me happy. …show more content…
So my senior year is when I began to over come these difficulties. My English teacher was the main reason why I overcame them; she gave me new studying techniques and ways to finish tests on time. With these techniques, I was able to finally pass the FSA and graduate on time. The biggest reason why my senior year was important, is because I was the first on my moms side of the family to finish high school and graduate. Most of them did go back and earned their GED, but I was the first to earn a high school diploma. This made me feel like I have accomplished something in my life. A lot of people doubted me and told me I would not make it, but I kept telling myself that I could make it. I pushed myself everyday until I graduated. All of these made my senior year experience so important: I learned who I wanted to be, I overcame my difficulties, and I was the first to graduate. From this experience, I have became a better person. I did not let anything get in my

One thing that I learned was the importance of teamwork and how it can affect each individual participating as well as the team as a whole. There was so much drama and contention the the team that year so it was hard for everyone to work together and be united as one. Another lesson I took from that year was how having a positive attitude can make or break any experience you may be going through. If you have a negative attitude it not only affects you but it also affects those people around you which isn't very good for a whole team. Freshman year also taught me how to put up with people I don't particularly like just for the sake of not creating any drama and keeping the team as one. At times I wanted to quit so badly because the year was so hard but I realize now that if you endure some things to the end then you will feel more accomplished in the…

I should have focused more on my grades this year. By attending many social events, waiting until the last minute to complete work, and refusing to study my grades began to drop. I feel that if I would have put more effort into my school work I would have achieved the grades I am capable of getting. By hanging out with friends and putting off work my grades gradually began to drop. Your senior year is not the year to slack off in; it would have better prepared me for college and set the tone for how I should work if I had just put in the effort necessary to achieve outstanding grades. When in college I cannot make this same mistake; all of my dreams of obtaining a decent job after college could be ruined.…

The beginning of my freshman year in high school changed my life. I had set many types of goals for myself this year including making friends, helping others and being a part of the most incredible organization, Blue Guards. Blue Guards is apart of the Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps at Oxon Hill High School. Blue Guards was not only a drill team, it was a family, a family of girls and boys working together, leading others, having discipline, and respecting each other as a team. Walking into the first day of school knowing I was going to be part of this team made me light up like a light bulb.…

The last thing you want to have to worry about senior year is qualifying or getting accepted into the college you are bound to go to. This quote from source A describes the theme perfectly, “If the goal is to earn a living then maybe it isn’t really true that 18 year olds need to be imparted with a sense of panic about getting into college” (Crawford, Matthew B.). This quote uses the word “panic” to describe the sense of stress that these high school students can feel when they are trying to live up to their families' expectations.…
