will unfortunately be present, but communicating and acknowledging everyone within the workplace is respectful and necessary. My education in terms of class may allow for better communication or opportunities and can also be considered one of the privileges for my social class. Other privileges that are related my social class standing can be food choices, employment, transportation, political representation, and variants of language.
The elements of education and workplace experience can also be associated with my social identity and communication styles.
My education is of great value to me and plays an extremely big part of how I learn to communication and approach discourse. My family, most importantly my father, has taught me how imperative education is and all that it entails such as experiences, knowledge, and lifelong skills. Education has shaped my communicating by presenting me with numerous opportunities to gain experience with communication and language. With completing my high school diploma, bachelor’s degree, and finishing up my masters’ program, education has had a prodigious effect on developing communication. In regards to the workplace, linking communication and education can shape attitudes, expectations of working tasks, and lay framework for success in workplace practices and responsibilities. Education certainly permits privileges in regards to communication. Job opportunities, pay, knowledge, and a reflection of what you can contribute and are capable of can be noted privileges of in terms of communication and the workplace. Education can also be interrelated with work experience in terms of communication. I have worked with various groups of people of all races, abilities, and careers sorts. With this, I’ve had the pleasure of working as a tutor, server, nurse assistant, hospital clerk, and exercise assistant for individuals with disabilities which all have uniquely contributed to my communication and social identity. These workplace experiences have helped shape the various communication styles, attitudes, and strategies that can be applied based on the organization or context. Incorporating these into practices in the workplace will hopefully benefit me in my future career endeavors. Workplace experience may also be considered a privilege because it sanctions for great number of opportunities to communicate, varied contexts of communication, and a chance of learning
what styles work and when to utilize them.
