My study routine
My Study Routine Studying is very challenging for teenagers because we tend to have so many other things pondering our mind. Everyone has a different approach on how they learn things. I am a quick learner; however I tend to forget things quickly. My studying routine has to be enforced almost everyday. When it's time to study, I find a nice quiet spot in the house. My room is usually the most low-pitched. One day I attempted to study in the living while my brother was playing his game. It was a very bad idea I could not concentrate at all. I was paying more attention to him than I was my notes because he was more interesting at the time. I finally decided that I should go back to my room and I made great progress studying. Flashcards is a technique that I use when I study. I write questions on one side and the answers on the other side. It helps me remember and maintain my information. I write my Spanish words on one side of the card and the meaning of them on the other side. If you like playing memory games, flashcards are contributive when preparing for a test. I also study for my hard classes first and my easier classes last. Hard subjects usually take more time to soak in than others. I remember one night I studied for all my easy classes first and studied for my U.S History class last. I had a test the next day. My grade on my test was not acceptable. Therefore I study for my hard classes first and my easier classes last. Even though my study routine may not help others, it helps me to pass all my test. My study routine also helps me to be ahead of more students. I am one of the the top students in my class and I give all the credit to my study routine. Studying is very essential for me to be victorious in life.

I must stop giving into peer pressure and spend more time on my school work like I know I should be doing. To create the ideal study environment, I need to go to the library or somewhere quiet and well lit away from distractions in order to study. While your studies need your full attention, one must also be comfortable in order to be able to concentrate on the material. It helps me to create mind maps, flash cards or other visuals to help me retain the information. I must find an open time slot so that I can shut off my phone so that I can clear my mind of everything but the study material. Always studying in the same place helps us to remember the…

When it comes to the studying in short frequent sessions, this is a strategy that works for me. It suites the assessment of my “social” learning style well. The breaks reinvigorate me and help with focus.…

I apply my personal learning style by listening to music while I work and take short breaks every once and a while to take a break and just listen to music. I believe my personal study habits can either hinder or help my studying; it just depends if I work music into my work or not. If I don’t include music into my studying I tend to get restless and have to quite until my brain reboots. When I play music I can normally study for hours and not get sidetracked as much.…

The three study strategies that I chose are SQ3R, using flash cards and A.S.P.I.R.E. SQ3R stands for Survey, Question, Read, Recite and Review. First survey, or skim over the assignment, paying close attention to chapter headings, bold type, charts and summary. Next, question what is needed to understand and complete the assignment. Ask questions based on the preview of the assignment. Read and highlight important information and answer the questions. Recite answers to the questions and make notes. Review the material and questions frequently. I found that this method is almost identical to the PQRST method, which stands for Preview, Question, Read, Summarize and Test. I think I already use some of the steps in the SQ3R method. I have a tendency to skip over the reciting part of this method, which is shocking, considering my learning style is verbal. Flash cards are amazing!!! I can remember using flash cards back in grade school, all the way through high school. I even used flash cards in cosmetology school to learn the different nail diseases. I found it slightly more effective to have another person test me with the flash cards, rather than testing myself. With a verbal learning style, saying things out loud definitely helps me remember. I was doing some research online at studygs.net/aspire.html and found a study strategy called A.S.P.I.R.E.…
