It was my Junior year in Psychology and our teacher, Mrs. Mais, took us into a computer lab to “take a personality test”, as she put it. We got in the lab and she gave us the link to the site. i began taking the test, as did the rest of the class. It was roughly 65 questions and in about ten minutes I finished the test. I clicked Finished” and, before my eyes, appeared my “four letter code”.

That’s what one of the says “Don’t worry about descriptions. Look at the functions.” I asked them what the functions were. They gave me some links and I began to read about “Cognitive Functions of MBTI”. Cognitive functions theory was first coined by Carl Jung after observing that the brain has eight basic functions to process information. (CognitiveProcesses). All eight being: Extroverted Intuition, Introverted Intuition, Extroverted Sensing, Introverted Sensing, Extroverted Thinking, Introverted Thinking, Extroverted Feeling, and Introverted Feeling. Each MBTI type uses four primary functions, each processing information in a different way but simultaneously working together.
As I began to read about them, I learned which types used which functions. For example, ENTP uses Ne (Extroverted Intuition), Ti (Introverted Thinking), Fe (Extroverted Feeling), and Si (Introverted Sensing). I began to read into what each function does on their own and was very suprised at how much I could relate to
