She was asleep. She was dreaming. That's all she knew. Where she was, who she was, it didn't cross her mind. All that mattered was the dream. The nightmare. Fear, terror, anger, panic, longing, despair, darkness. Then-she was awake. She was in a bed. She was curled up, twisted, in the sheets. But she wasn't alone. She could feel someone there, but who they were she didn't know. She slowly stretched out her arms, reaching for the unknown person, wanting to feel someone else. Wanting to know she was awake and not still dreaming. Her hands felt someone lying next to her, facing her, also wrapped in the bed sheets. She looked at him closely for a moment...there was something familiar about him after all, she decided. But whether it was something real or just a vague sense of deja vu, she didn't know. He frowned and leaned closer, apparently concerned by her silence.
"Sally?" He asked her, reaching out to stroke her face.
"Is something wrong? I'm your husband, you can tell me anything.
"It was like she had been slapped, as if freezing water had been poured all over her. She even shivered as she remembered, of course she knew, husband-this was her husband, Adrian. They had been married for two years. Relief washed through her as she suddenly remembered everything. She sighed with relief and smiled at Adrian, who smiled back, still looking worried.
"I'm fine Adrian, I just had a nightmare and woke up not knowing who I was."
She said simply, laughing at how scared she had been, how on earth could she have forgotten her whole life? Adrian's face broke into a wide grin and he reached over to pull her closer to him. She moved willingly, easily fitting herself into his arms.
"I'll tell you who you are," Adrian whispered into her
