I think Father Daniel Mary did establish a future direction for the Carmelite Monks of Wyoming to some degree. The idea is great but the monks are constrained by time and manpower. It takes a great deal of labor and time to build a successful business. Father Mary’s vision for the monastery was to convert the small group of 13 monks living in a small house into a 500-acre monastery that could house 30 monks, a Gothic church, a retreat for visitors, and a convent for nuns.
Father Mary’s vision for Mystic Monk Coffee was for it to be a large part of the means for obtaining the 500-acre ranch and building the accommodations as well as being able to support the new ranch. The mission of the Carmelite Monks of Wyoming was to devote their life to prayers and worship while at the same time being self sustaining.

The problem is it cannot make enough money to purchase and support Irma Lake Ranch. The monk’s production is constrained by the restricted capabilities of their current machine and the extent in which the 13 monks can operate. There only positive is there is no labor cost involved but all the other cost are associated with low production. The MMC business model does not make a notable contribution to purchasing the 500-acre ranch. It also appears MMC is operating a loss with all sales from affiliate web sites. The sites that sold MMC received a 18% commission. MMC net profit margin is only 11%, therefore creating a loss when the coffee was purchased from the sites.
