I grew up a little bit everywhere, traveled with my mother when I was young, saw a lot of places and thankfully I was able to travel and see even more because of my family. Diversity gave me the opportunity to have different perspective of reality. As growth flourishes, a “few” questions always come up. And as a result of answering these questions I’ve learned and figured that changing the world is a product of changing your self, and who would not want to be himself, right?
What keeps us from being ourselves is our ego and society. The ego is the creation of society, and it feed’s it every day with mediocre and lowering beliefs like how one should look or behave. From “The Last American Men” by Elizabeth Gilberts, these beliefs keeps us viewing are life as a box instead of a circle, as expressed by the protagonist Eustace. He describes how we live in a box, drive in a box, eat in a box and see through a box instead of, like Eustace, being a part of the circle of life.
The products of viewing life as a circle are freedom, peace and happiness. And who would not want these? Happy made by Roko Belic, is a movie that takes the audience around the world to see and understand that happiness is not a quest, but a positive state of mind. It’s not something money or even America can give you, its your own to find in you. The “circle” mean that you are aware of the impact your actions have on others and on your self. For in Happy they showed that the happiest persons are the ones that are the most aligned with their purpose, therefore supporting others and the planet. Not the richest or the most famous.
The idea of “It”, your life quest, being too difficult, hard or hurtful is bullshit. It’s good though, it shows that you are on the right track, it is you not wanting to let go of your ego, excuses.
