Research Proposal 1. Project Title: The Motivation of Speaking For CTU Students

2. Researcher: Thanattha Poolsup Major Business English Year 3

3. Background and problem :
To study International program, you need to get 4 skill; reading, writing, listening and speaking. Most of Thai students will not concern about speaking in English because many reasons such as less of word, shy or wrong grammatical. These facts will impact on the speaking skill and student will not have the good communication in English.

4. Literature Review :

1.According to the International Journal of Social Science and Humanity, Developing Speaking Skills Using Three Communicative Activities (Discussion, Problem-Solving, and Role-Playing) researched about the practicing speaking skill and ability to speak is the most essential skill since it is the basic for communication.( Thanyalak Oradee,2012)
2.Personalized Speaking - People spend a huge chunk of their everyday conversation time talking about themselves and the people they know, so the most natural thing in the world is for us to invite our students to do the same. What our students bring to the learning environment is our richest resource. But if the lives they lead are to be at the centre of the courses we teach, are we guaranteed that students will talk freely and be interested in what their fellow classmates tell them? The answer is no. So what are some of the main challenges we face when doing personalized speaking activities and how can these challenges be met? (TE Editor, 2010)
3.Group Discussion - Group discussions occur in many different formats – from very informal ones between friends to highly structured and challenging discussions included as part of a selection process. In both cases, there are a number of specific skills that we can help our students develop to become better able to contribute effectively to group discussions. (TE Editor, 2010) 5. Objective : To motivating student to prentice
