Introduction
On-the-Job-Training or OJT is job training that occurs in the work place. It is part of a college curriculum that aims to train and orient students about the work and their future career. It is very important not only to teach students their chosen career but to show students the reality about working. Students should not take OJT for granted because if you will get a high evaluation grade, your employer might hire you when you graduate. Your background OJT is very important when applying for a job. Oftentimes, employers will ask you the relevance of your training to your course and to the position you are applying for. It will be your training ground. If you still have no idea on what is meant to be a worker, OJT will give a hint of career realities. Your OJT superior might as well recommend your skills to other companies whom he knows. It will give you a sense of confidence that you can use when applying for a job after graduation and also help you to make career choices. Students should realize the importance of OJT on their future career. Having a good performance during OJT is very important especially now that there's a tight competition towards job seekers and the high qualification of companies.

It’s like the saying “No man is an island” in other words, we couldn’t live only with ourselves we need the help of other people to overcome the problems in life. During the days of my

For example, informal mentoring, where mentors and protégés select each other based on mutual interests, has been shown to be more effective than formal mentoring (Ragins & Cotton, 1999). On-the-job versus off-the-job training On-the-job training (OJT) is a common method in which organizations focus on the technical aspects of the job. OJT is delivered where the job takes place. Throughout the training, trainees, also referred to as apprentices, are familiarized with the job and its tools, procedures, and techniques. Trainees gain hands-on exposure and they experience the work they’ll do after the training period ends.…

The catalyst to the geothermal development of the Philippines was the oil crisis that hit the country in the early 1970’s, exposing the country’s vulnerability to imported fossil fuel. Geothermal development efforts were initially started by the National Power Corporation which ushered in the development of the Tiwi and Makban geothermal fields in the Luzon Island through the Philippine Geothermal Incorporated (now Chevron) which resulted in the establishment of aggregate 660 MW plants (1979-1984). Recognizing the massive task ahead, the PNOC-EDC was created which immediately embarked in the exploration and development of the other geothermal areas in the country. This resulted in the commissioning of the 112.5 MW Palinpinon I geothermal plant (1983), the 112.5 MW Tongonan geothermal plant (1983), the 150 MW Bacon Manito geothermal plants (1994), and the Palinpinon II geothermal power plants (1992), all with the National Power Corporation as the power plant operator. With the advent of the BOT Law in 1992, the 588.4 MW Unified Leyte Plants (1996-1997) and the 106.0 MW Mindanao geothermal power plants (1997-1999) were installed. In February 2007, EDC commissioned its first merchant plant, the 49.4 MW Northern Negros geothermal power plant (2007). Chevron also optimized their geothermal resource (added Catigtig 2 30th Anniversary Workshop 95.7 MW) increasing the country’s geothermal power capacity to 1954.1 MW, making the Philippines the second largest geothermal power producer in the world. Looking forward, EDC as a private corporation is putting on stream growth projects with a capacity of up to 300 MW which is expected to be on line starting 2010.…

The new employee learns the job while doing the job. On the job training is also called hands on training. On the job training has many advantages, but it can also have a few disadvantages if the OJT is not properly planned and executed. The goal of the OJT program is to place participants in the occupations that will enhance their prospects for long-term-employment and will ultimately permit them to become self-sufficient. OJT involves the acquisition of specific skills and employment competencies, through exposure in actual work setting, to the processes, work tasks, tools and methods of specific job or group of jobs.…
