I have never been a part of an auditing process however as a family day care mum I had to work within the requirements of the NQF and embed the principles and practices of the EYLF to reflect on and guide my practice. Additionally, my studies have placed considerable emphasis on understanding the legislative requirements that surround EC educators as it is highly important that I, as a pre-service educator meet and understand legal and regulatory requirements (Waniganayake et al., 2012). For example; I had to investigate and create a comprehensive heath nutrition, safety and protective Matrix from birth to 8 years of age (QAS 1.1, ACECQA, 2013). The knowledge that I gained from that task will help me identify and assess stages of development and recognising milestones and providing sufficient support to the whole child.
