Likewise, when people try challenges on their own it can “bring out [the] worst or [the] best” experiences. Furthermore, when going through an obstacle it can explain how positive or negative a situation can be, such as when athletes train and injure themselves they get to know their true talents and limits. People will not understand how well they can do during a real obstacle or challenge if no barriers exist. On the other hand, others claim even when talents are known they will not help people during a difficult moment, because Louie, Mac, and Phil still “cling to one another” on the raft in the excerpt, Unbroken. Indeed, dreams are always blocked by obstacles. With Randy's ideal purpose, people would try hard and overcome all obstacles if they have thirst for dreams. However, having thirst is not the only factor for achieving goals because dreams need to be connected with reality. In childhood, people tend to dream big with no limitation because they are too naive to have practical plans. After growing up gradually, people will assess how many dreams they can fulfill in the future. That is the process of connecting dreams and reality. People need to differentiate which dreams can be put into practice to achieve, and which ones are too hard to fulfill. As for Randy, he realized whether the obstacles could be broken or not, and tried his best to fulfill his…

So after some serious praying and soul searching, I knew what I had to do. I chose to fight for what I loved so dearly, my children, our home and stabilazation. I went right to work and got three jobs, and got my car back. I was then able to rent a trailer home from a friend, and after one year and three months, my babies came home for good. I eventually went on to meet someone else, and he has been a blessing to my life and to the lives of my children. All of the struggles I encountered were just changes being made by a plan that was already in place. A plan that was made before I was even a thought in my parents mind, Gods plan. I always knew that God existed and not for one minute did I ever doubt that. However, at times I wasn't willing to accept his plan. I had my own in place. That is the struggle though, as a person of flesh and blood, we don't see the bigger, grander picture. These changes that are brought about in so many ways, often refered to as trials or…

I prayed constantly and I trusted in God that it would work out. I never knew what was in store for me. My biggest fear is that I would wind up in a foster home. Two or three weeks had passed, and one of my best friends, Bryce, knew my situation. He had talked to his parents about it, and they offered for me to stay with them. It was a very generous offer, and without a doubt I took it, because who would not want to live with one of their best friends right? This was going to be my third house within two years. I was tired of bouncing from house to house and feeling so unstable. The day I moved in, I never could have told you that in a year I would still be living there. Bryce’s family treated me like I was a part of their family.…
