Neil Armstrong
“That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind,” Neil Armstrong announced to the world in 1969. With his leadership and risk-taking he positively changed the future. Neil Armstrong demonstrated courage, determination and perseverance as he accomplished the intense goals throughout his life.
Neil Armstrong was born on August 5, 1930, near Wapakoneta, Ohio. Eldest of three children, his parents Stephen and Viola Engel Armstrong, Always encouraged him to shoot for the moon and achieve the unachievable, and he did exactly that (Neil Alden Armstrong). Armstrong had courage for everything he did in his life, he always reached for the stars and didn’t back down. He hoped his whole life that one day he could fly into space, and he did it. When Armstrong stepped foot on the moon it impacted the future in many ways. So many people look up to him because of everything he’s done and how strong he had to be to do it all, “When Neil Armstrong took his small step, Americans knew we could overcome any obstacle and prevail over any challenge” (Nancy Pelosi). He didn’t think he was extraordinary, he just thought he was accomplishing what he wanted to do in life. “A Reluctant American hero who always believed he was just doing his job” (Nail Armstrong: a “reluctant hero”). He has Changed the way people look at life and live life, “Today, Neil’s spirit of discovery lives on in all the men and women who have devoted their lives to exploring the unknown,” (Barack Obama) Armstrong motivated people. He finally gave it his all and did something huge for the world. “With courage unmeasured and unbounded love for his country, he walked where man had never walked before” (Man on the Moon). He always accomplished what he was asked to do or wanted to do. Neil Armstrong never backed out of any opportunities to fly, no matter what the task
